FR ANDREW WRITES
The holiday season is very much upon us!  I have just returned from my summer break and now Fr David is off on his.  During August we welcome Fr Michael Quaicoe who is helping us out during his holidays from his studies in Rome.   Whether you are jetting off to somewhere exotic or just having a rest at home, it’s important to have a break.  Holidays are a great opportunity not just to rest our mind and body but also to refresh our souls.  When life is a little quieter we can rediscover simply how to take to delight in the Lord, to enjoy His presence, in the mass, in the tabernacle, in our prayer and in those we meet.  After all, when this life is over and all our plans and frantic activity are finally ended, there will be only one thing to delight in, only one thing to love and that is God.  Learning to delight in Him now helps to ensure that we will be able to enjoy His presence for ever.  Happy holidays!

Here at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish we are lucky to have a vibrant, thriving Brownie Pack meeting every Thursday (term-time only) in the Parish Hall , 6—7.30 pm, run by Leader Karen Landi, Assistant Leader Frances Kantorowicz and Unit Helper Sarah Hunt.

Brownies is about trying new things that teach girls aged seven to ten about themselves, their community and their world. Brownies introduces girls to a world of new opportunities, challenges and fun. Girls go along to camps, holidays, day trips and sleepovers. They get together with their friends at regular meetings where they learn new hobbies, get creative, explore other cultures and have outdoor adventures.  As well as trying activities in their meetings, girls choose from interest badges related to things they want to know more about. We have spaces to invite new girls to join the pack.  If you would like to register for girls to join please follow the link below. https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/what-we-do/brownies-7-10
