WELCOME
A very warm welcome to Fr Jerome who joins us this week. I am sure we will all make him feel welcome and at home in this wonderful parish. Fr Jerome is a member of the Holy Ghost Fathers (Spiritans) who comes with a wealth of pastoral experience working as a missionary, especially with migrant peoples. Now he begins a new chapter here and will bring many gifts and blessings to us all through his ministry. This weekend he will say the 4pm Vigil Mass, and the 11.15 and 12.30 Sunday Masses.

WELCOME BACK
Welcome back to Fr Samuel who is visiting again this weekend. He will celebrate some of our Masses. In due course, Fr Samuel will return to Cape Coast. We wish him well.

FR ANDREW MASS & PRESENTATION
We will welcome Fr Andrew back to celebrate a special Mass of Thanksgiving on Friday 28th January at 7pm, followed by a reception in the hall. This weekend and next there will be an opportunity for you to contribute towards a presentation. I am sure many of you will want to be present at least at the Mass that night and also in the hall. However, if you are anxious about social gatherings please do join us for the Mass and make a considered decision yourself about joining afterwards. Fr D.

PATRONAL FEAST OF OUR LADY OF LOURDES
Another date for your diaries: we will celebrate a special Mass for our Patronal Feast on Friday 11th February at 7pm. (Please note that the 10am Mass that day will be the school Mass for the feast. The parish Mass will be the special Mass at 7pm).

CONFIRMATION 2022
If you are currently in year 9 or above and would like to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation please sign the list in the church porch.  The list will be available for the next three weeks. There is a meeting for Parents and Candidates on Tuesday 8th March 8pm.

IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS: PLEASE NOTE CAREFULLY
Please don’t come to church if you have any symptoms or have a positive test result. Please wear a face covering in church.

SYNODAL PATH
Towards the end of last year, I put some notices in the newsletter about the Synodal path and some questions to help think about what it means to listen to the experience of others in our church. There are some sheets at the back of church if you would like to note down some of your experiences of what you have heard. Please return them to the presbytery letter box as soon as possible. Fr D.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2022
The next session will take place on Saturday 29th January at 10 am, with Mass for the whole family on Sunday 30th at 11.15 am.

PLANNED GIVING BOXES
Any box that hasn’t been collected for the last two years will be cancelled in the next order—if anyone would like to receive their box for the year 2022/23 please let the Parish Office know as soon as possible.  If you would like to offer Gift Aid on your donation, forms are available at the parish office.  Thank you very much.

FOOD BANK NEWS
We are grateful for all donations but are running short of the following items: clothes washing powder/liquid; toilet paper; washing up liquid; shower gel, shampoo and other toiletries; sanitary towels; tinned fish and tinned tomatoes. Please note that the drop off at Our Lady of Lourdes cannot accept fresh food (eg. vegetables, dairy products, bread etc) as they quickly go out of date, and we are not able to store them correctly.

OFFERTORY COUNTERS ROTA
There is now a new rota available.  If it hasn’t been emailed to you, please collect your copy from the paper shop.  Thank you.

The two dates for signing school forms have now passed. If there are any further forms, please contact the parish office (Fr David will not be able to sign forms at the back of church after Masses). Thank you.
