FR DAVID WRITES
Today is the Sixth Sunday of Easter, and we are heading into the time of Ascension and, later, Pentecost. Thank you and well done to everyone was part of the First Communion thanksgiving Mass and party last Sunday. It was a lovely occasion!

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations and best wishes to Emma Westbury and Adam Marsh who were married here yesterday (Saturday) during Nuptial Mass. We send them and their families our love.

ASCENSION THURSDAY
This Thursday is the solemnity of the Lord’s Ascension, 40 days after Easter. There will be Mass here at 8am, 10am and 7.30pm. The 10am Mass will also be the Funeral for Rupert Rasanayagam, celebrated within the Mass. Please do join us on this special occasion as we celebrate the feast, giving thanks for Rupert’s life and praying that he may share in the joys of Christ’s ultimate victory over death. We send our love to his family and friends for that day.

BISHOP’S VISIT
Bishop Sherrington will be with us on Friday 10th June to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the primary school and to confer Confirmation on our young people who have been preparing recently. Please keep all the young people and children in your prayers on this special day.

50TH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR LADY OF LOURDES PRIMARY SCHOOL
On Friday 10th June at 2.30pm there will be a special Mass in church. Everyone is most welcome —including past pupils, teachers, helpers, and governors. There is a reception in the school hall. DO YOU ENJOY SINGING?
The choir at the 10 am Mass would like to welcome new members. Being able to read music would be an advantage, but is not a necessity. Please let the Parish Office know.

8AM MASS
As Fr Johnson will be on pilgrimage later this week, please note that there will not be the early morning exposition before 8am Mass on Thursday and Friday.

PARISH OFFICE
Please note that the Parish Office will be closed this Friday, 27th May.

JUBILEE WEEKEND
The Parish Office will also be closed on the special Bank Holidays for the Queen’s Jubilee. On Thursday 2 May and Friday 3 May, Mass here will be at 10am only.

PLATINUM JUBILEE 1952-2022
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee marking seventy years of the reign will be celebrated from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June. On the morning of Sunday 5th June, it would be nice to celebrate in the hall. Please bring a cake or other treats with you for a shared table after the 10am and 11.15 Masses. Our Scout groups will lead a special Church Parade that Sunday at the 11.15am Mass. It promises to be a lovely weekend.

CATECHISTS FOR FIRST HOLY COMMUNION & CONFIRMATION
Our catechists do a wonderful job in helping children and families prepare for the sacraments. New catechists will be needed for the next Communion and Confirmation. If you would like to help please leave your name and number with the Parish Office—thank you.

AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED—TEN CHURCHES WALK

The Funeral will take place at 10am on Tuesday 24th May. May he rest in peace.

RUPERT RASANAYAGAM RIP
The Funeral will take place at 10am on Thursday 26th May. This Mass for Rupert will be on the Feast of the Lord’s Ascension. May he rest in peace.

CATHERINE DURKAN RIP
The Funeral will take place at 10am on Monday 30th May. May she rest in peace.

ST MICHAEL’S CATHOLIC GRAMMAR SCHOOL—APPLICATIONS FOR YEAR 7
