FR DAVID WRITES
This coming Friday we will welcome all the children and staff from Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School to celebrate their ‘Welcome Mass’ at the beginning of the new school year. Friday is also the Feast of St Edward the Confessor, Patron of the Diocese, and incidentally, the sixth anniversary of my installation as the Parish Priest of New Southgate. CAFOD HARVEST FAST DAY
Friday was Harvest Fast Day. The CAFOD collection will be taken at all Masses. Please use the envelopes if you are able to offer Gift Aid on your donation. OCTOBER
October is month of the Holy Rosary. You can join the rosary here every weekday at 9.30am, before 10am Mass. A plenary indulgence may be obtained, under the usual conditions, by reciting five decades of the Rosary in church, as a family at home, or in general whenever several persons have gathered for a good purpose; in every other circumstance, a partial indulgence may be gained.
NOVEMBER: MASSES & PRAYERS FOR THE HOLY SOULS RIP
November will be the month of the Holy Souls. Prayer sheets and envelopes are available in the church porch. Please take one of each and return to the letter box with the names of your departed loved ones to be included in our prayers for the Holy Souls in November. Please include an offering if you can as many of the Masses in November are giving over to Holy Souls and replace a Mass when the priest would otherwise receive a stipend. Thank you.

RCIA/JOURNEY IN FAITH
Soon we will begin a new Journey in Faith for adults who wish to be baptised, confirmed or received into full communion with the Catholic Church next Easter. EARLY BIRD CHRISTMAS CARDS!
There is now a small stock of Christmas cards and other items for sale in the Paper Shop, open after the 8.45am, 10am and 11.15 Masses. If you attend the 12.30pm Mass please pop in beforehand. Thank you.
FOLK GROUP
In our Centenary year we find that the 11.15 Choir has been singing in our Parish for 50 years! They began in 1973 as ‘The Folk Group’, which became ‘The Family Mass Group’ and now the ‘11.15 Choir’! They invite you to join them on Friday to celebrate the occasion with Mass in church at 7pm, followed by refreshments in the Hall. All are welcome and if you know any past members, players or singers, please invite them too. Congratulations to all members, past and present, and thank you from the whole parish for their wonderful ministry.

SACRED HEART PRIMARY 2024 ADMISSIONS
Sacred Heart Catholic primary school are holding their open mornings for parents of children due to start reception in September 2024. These will be held on Wednesday 1st November and Friday 1st December. Both mornings will begin with an introduction from the Headteacher, Geraldine Porter, followed by small group tours of the school led by members of the Senior Leadership team.
