FR DAVID WRITES
Today is Pentecost Sunday, when we celebrate both the coming of the Holy Spirit on the apostles. and the birth of the Church in the world of time and history. We celebrate the Catholic faith which comes to us, through the apostles, from Christ. The Holy Spirit is our Helper and promised Advocate who guides the family of God in all truth and love. Have a wonderful Pentecost Sunday to you all!

NEXT SUNDAY: TRINITY SUNDAY & DAY FOR LIFE
The Church teaches that life is to be nurtured from conception to natural death. In England and Wales, the Day for Life is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. This year the theme is ‘Hope does not Disappoint: Finding meaning in Suffering’. St Paul invites us to see that Christian hope is not just naïve optimism but an unshakeable trust in the power and presence of God who is with us always. This hope can endure the darkness of human suffering and even see beyond it.

ASSISTED DYING BILL
Parishioners are encouraged to write to their MP again. The bill returns to the House of Commons at a critical stage very soon. The suggestion is that we write again now to reinforce our opposition to the bill. Please see this link for details: https://righttolife.org.uk/c6gk
