FR TOM WRITES
Today we begin the season of Advent—a time filled with hope and expectation. Until December 17th, our focus turns to the Second Coming of Christ, and the Church calls out to each of us: Wake up! We do not know the day or the hour when Christ will return, but He has promised that it will come when we least expect it. May this season shape our hearts and prepare us for the coming of the Lord. Let us turn away from sin and allow ourselves to be transformed into true reflections of His love.
ADVENT BEGINS
This year, Advent in the Jubilee Year takes on a special significance, especially as it is a season marked by ‘hope’. ‘Walk With Me’ booklets are available at the back of church to help you through the Advent journey. The booklets will be £1.50 each.

PAPAL VISIT TO TURKEY AND LEBANON
This weekend, the Holy Father Leo XIV makes his visit to Turkey and Lebanon, to join with Orthodox and ecumenical brothers and sisters to mark the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea (AD 325) which promulgated the Nicene Creed. This is the creed that unites all Christians throughout the world and through the ages, and which we say with faith and conviction each Sunday at Mass. This important milestone is one of the significant features of the Holy Year which will end after Christmas.
