FR DAVID WRITES
Today is the Second Sunday of Advent, but my diary makes me feel like its Christmas already! Although there are many lovely Christmas events, let’s make an effort to keep our prayers and focus at church on the meaning of the Advent journey: waiting, watching and preparing our hearts with the gift of hope. Today we meet John the Baptist: the apostle of hope who came to herald and announce the Advent of Christ. I had a wonderful day on Wednesday with two-thousand school children from across the diocese who joined the Catholic Children’s Society for our carol services. Thank you to everyone in the Bernadette Club for a lovely day on Thursday. May God bless us all in this coming week of Advent.
