NOVEMBER HOLY SOULS:

November is the month of the Holy Souls.  If you would still like to submit your list of names, please use an envelope from the porch. 

SICK AND RETIRED PRIESTS:

Thank you for your generosity last weekend.  The collection for the Sick and Retired Priests raised £2,455. 

FAIR TRADE STALL:

The Stall is open today 13th/14th November (not Sunday evening).  Traidcraft Catalogues will be available. 

PAPER SHOP & COFFEE MORNING:

We are looking for volunteers for Sunday morning coffees and the Paper Shop.  Please leave your details with the office if you would like to know more. 

PLANNED GIVING ENVELOPES:

New planned giving envelopes will be available from the back of the church from next Sunday.

OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL:

There are open mornings at 9am on Thursday, 18th November and Friday, 3rd December for new parents.

The School has vacancies for a play leader, one hour/day, and for an escort from Garfield’s school breakfast club at 8.30 am.  Please contact the school on 8361 0767 for further details.    

MASS TIMES:

Please note there will be no 8am Mass on Thursday 18th November. 

THE PAPAL VISIT:

The Archbishop has asked us to have a second collection to help pay for the visit of the Pope.  This will take place after all Masses next weekend.  Thank you in advance for your generosity. 

CONFIRMATION CATECHISTS:

We are looking for a number of people who would be prepared to assist with the catechesis of those who will be preparing for Confirmation next year.  There will be two groups this year, from Years 9 and 10.  If you are interested in helping please tear off the slip at the bottom of the newsletter and pass it on to one of the Priests or post it through the Presbytery letter box – thank you. 

CEMETERY MASS:

At St Patrick’s, Leytonstone, tomorrow 15th November at 11.30 am. Everyone is welcome. 

ALTAR SERVING:

If you would like to serve at Mass, application forms are available in the Paper Shop today and training will begin on Saturday November 20th at 10.30 am.  We are not only looking for young people.  Perhaps you were a server when you were younger.  It would be a good thing to have some adults overseeing serving at Mass. 

CAR PARK VOLUNTEERS:

Thank you to all who helped to clean the car park last Saturday morning, you all did a great job! 

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:

Advent Talks 1st, 8th, 15th December at 7.30pm in the Hall.  This year’s theme is “Exploring the Mass”. 

Blessing of the restored statue of Our Lady in New Southgate Cemetery at 11am on Saturday 4th December. 

Also on the 4th December is the Sacrament of the Sick Mass at 2.30pm with refreshments to follow in the Hall.
