A VERY BIG THANK YOU…
To all those who helped in any way to prepare our young people (and our church) for First Holy Communion and Confirmation this year.  All three ceremonies were much appreciated by those who attended them.

FR TOM:
As you will be aware Fr Tom will be retiring this Summer after Fifty years of Priesthood and sixteen years as Parish Priest at Our Lady of Lourdes.  As part of our farewell to him we will be celebrating on Saturday 17th June with a Mass at 6.30 pm followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.  All Parishioners are invited – please keep a note of the date – more information to follow.

SCOUT CAKE SALE FOR PERU:
The Explorer Scouts are holding a cake sale and raffle in the Hall after this mornings Masses.  They are raising funds for their trip to Peru where they will assist in building a Sustainable Greenhouse to support the poor locals in Viacha village to grow their own food.

BERNADETTE CLUB OUTING TO HATFIELD HOUSE:  Thursday 18th May.

Those who are going on the outing are reminded that the coach will leave from the car park at 10 am on the dot!!

BLESSED TANSI PILGRIMAGE:
The annual Pilgrimage in honour of Blessed Cyprian Iwene Tansi takes place at Mount St Bernard Abbey, Coalville, Leicestershire on Saturday 26th August.  If you are interested in going, please contact Bernadette Igboaka on 07813 367787.

DEMENTIA FRIENDS TALK:

At the Church of Christ the King , Bramley Rd, N14 4HE on Saturday 20th May at 10.30 am.  The Dementia Friends Initiative is run by the Alzheimer's Society and its aim is to help create dementia friendly communities: this talk is designed to increase understanding and awareness of the disease.  All welcome.

VOLUNTEER FOR CARITAS:
Caritas are looking for volunteers to help with the ‘Drop In Centre” on Wednesday mornings here at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.  If you would like to help, or to know more, please contact the Parish Office for further details.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN THE WESTMINSTER DIOCESE:
There are always vacancies listed on the Diocesan website at www.rcdow.org.uk.  Look for Diocese and then “jobs”.

MAY BAPTISM COURSE:
The second part of the course will be on May 15th at 7.30 pm in the Small Hall.

FAIR TRADE STALL:
The Stall will be open at the usual times this weekend.

CARITAS ST JOSEPHS:
Working with people with learning disabilities.  Join us for a Sponsored Walk in Arnos Park on Sunday 21st May.  We meet at 2 pm in the Parish Hall and return at the end for some light refreshments with music.
