FR DAVID WRITES
Many congratulations to our young people who received their Confirmations on Friday. Thank you to everyone who helped them to this day, and to those who helped to prepare or celebrate the Mass, including Bishop John for presiding. Next weekend is Pentecost - the culmination of the Easter season and a day which marks the beginning of the age of the Church.

FR JOHNSON
I know some of you may have heard already, however it is now confirmed that Father Johnson will be leaving us at the end of May, having been asked by his own archbishop to return to the Archdiocese of Trivandrum. Fr Johnson has been with us here in New Southgate for about 12 years and contributed so much of himself and his priestly ministry to our community. I know we are all so grateful.

I propose we have a Farewell Mass and celebration for him on Saturday 25 May at 11 am. Please make a note of the date, and do join us. Next weekend there will be a special collection to give him a presentation.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION -  GOING FORTH MASS
Next Sunday, at the 11.15am Mass the children will be presented with their certificates. The celebration for the children will be in the hall after Mass.

MAY
May is the month of Mary. Please join us at 9.30 am every weekday morning—Monday to Friday—to pray the rosary in church.

BAPTISM
The next Baptism applications will be on Monday 13th May at 6.30pm.  Please come to the Parish Centre.

BERNADETTE CLUB
The next meeting of the Bernadette Club will take place on Thursday 6th June when we look forward to seeing you.

SUNDAY TEA & COFFEE
Please join us in the hall after 8.30, 9.45 and 11.15 Masses on Sunday morning for tea, coffee, biscuits, and an opportunity to chat with other parishioners. Thank you to those who help to run the tea and coffee every week— it is much appreciated by everyone.

PARISH SHOP
We have a very well stocked repository (shop) in the Parish, where you can find all kinds of items, including candles, cards, statues and rosaries.  We also have a range of First Communion and Confirmation items: cards, Mass books, rosaries and prayer books.  Please pop in for a look—you will find the card machine in there too.  It is on your right as  you enter the Hall and is open after all Sunday masses.

OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL
Help our school get £1,500. Our school has applied for a grant from Tesco to upgrade the infant playground. We will be up against other schools and whoever gets the most votes will win the £1,500. To vote you need to shop at Tesco and ask for the blue token when you check out. We will be in local stores—Colney Hatch Lane, Hampden Square, Whetstone and others from April to June—thank you.

FAIR TRADE
The stall will be next weekend after all Sunday masses on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May. If you bought from the April stall a 350g medium roast instant coffee pack incorrectly described as ground coffee, bring it back for a full refund even if you have opened and enjoyed some of it.
