CARDINAL’S MASS OF THANKSGIVING FOR THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY
Westminster Cathedral,
Saturday 23rd May 2015 at 3 pm.
All couples in the Diocese who are celebrating their 10th, 25th, 30th, 40th, 50th and 60th (and every year over 60) wedding anniversary of Catholic marriage in 2015 will be invited. Please give the Parish Office the following details: husband and wife’s names, wedding date, full postal address and email (or telephone number, if no email). Thank you.
ALTAR LINEN AND CHALICES:
If you can spare 15 minutes or so after the 10 am Mass on Monday mornings, and would like to help with cleaning these items, please contact the Parish Office with your details. Thank you.
CONFIRMATION 2015:
All those Candidates who have registered for Confirmation are asked to book an appointment to meet the Catechists and Priests by signing up on the sheet in the Sacristy. Please take an application form which must be returned when you attend your appointment on Wednesday 4th February.
FOUR SEASONS DRAW:
The next draw will be on Sunday 8th February after the 9.45 am. Mass. All subs in by Saturday 7th please.

JANUARY SALE:
The Annual January Sale takes place today in the Hall after Saturday evening’s mass and all Sunday morning – to approximately 1 pm. Please come in and look for a bargain, take home a delicious cake or win a fantastic prize in the raffle!
All proceeds from the Sale will go towards a video link from the Church to the Parish Hall for relay of the Mass during busy services.
ELIZABETH MOORE RIP:
The body will be received into the Church on Monday 2nd February at 6.30 pm, and the Requiem will take place on Tuesday 3rd at 10 am.
PROCLAIM ‘15 NEW NATIONAL INITIATIVE TO SUPPORT PARISH EVANGELISATION:
The Cardinal would like parishioners to attend this talk about how Parishes can do what the Pope asks us in his letter, ‘Joy of the Gospel’. If you are interested please put your name on the sheet in the Porch for either:
26th January at St Alban and St Stephen, St Albans, AL1 3RB, or 3rd February at Vaughan House. In both instances the meeting will run from 7.30 – 9 pm. Please see the poster in the church.
COURSES FOR CATECHISTS:
Please see the Notice board for courses you may be interested in. Please let the Office know if you would like to attend any of them.
PLANNED GIVING SCHEME:
It would be a great help to the parish if you are able to donate your offerings each week through the planned giving envelope scheme or by standing order. If you are also able to ‘Gift Aid’ your donation the parish would be able to gain a further 25% of your donation in tax relief from HMRC, provided you were a tax payer, without any cost to yourself.
