FR TOM WRITES
Today we remember with gratitude and reverence those who have given their lives in service of our country, and those afflicted by war. We pray for the fallen, the veterans, and all those who serve in the armed forces and their families. Beginning in our own lives, we are called to be inspired by Christ’s call for peace, forgiveness, reconciliation, and the hope that all conflicts may be resolved. May we all be apostles of the ‘disarming’ peace of Christ. May God bless us all this coming week.

PARISH REQUIEM MASS - THANK YOU
Thank you to everyone who came to our special Mass to pray for our Holy Souls in this month of November, and to all who helped make it a beautiful celebration.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
Today (Sunday) is Remembrance Sunday. We welcome members from the parish Scouts section who will lead the church parade and our act of remembrance.

DEANERY & DIOCESAN MASSES FOR DECEASED PRIESTS
Deanery Requiem Mass: Tuesday 12.15pm at Christ the King, Cockfosters.
Diocesan Mass for Deceased Priests: Thursday 5.30pm at Westminster Cathedral.

CATHOLIC CHILDREN’S SOCIETY ‘CHRISTMAS GIFT APPEAL’
Once again we will be collecting for the Catholic Children’s Society Christmas Gift Appeal. Your gifts will be given to children who are not expecting to receive anything this Christmas. Some are young carers, others have fled domestic violence with their families, and many living in temporary hostels. Gifts can be handed to the Parish Office during opening hours or left with the priest after Mass. All presents should be unwrapped and handed in by Sunday 29 November.

SICK & RETIRED PRIESTS’ FUND — NEXT WEEKEND
The second collection next week will be for the sick and retired priests of our diocese.  Most priests retire at 75, but many continue to help serve in our parishes, schools, hospitals and chaplaincies. Caring for our priests in their senior years or in illness is part of our mission. By supporting the Fund you can help cover essential costs and give peace of mind that their needs are met. You will find envelopes at the back of church today. Please take one and bring it back next time with your donation. Please pray for the wellbeing of all our clergy active, retired and ill. Thank you.

FAIR TRADE STALL
No other Advent calendar explains Advent or mentions Christmas. Only ’The Real Advent Fair Trade Chocolate’ one tells the real story and includes a 24 page activity book, plus lots of good things - in the hall next weekend November 14/15. Come in!

PAPER SHOP (REPOSITORY)
The shop has lots of Christmas cards and other seasonal items. Please visit to take a look. The shop is open on Sunday mornings.

PARISH CHRISTMAS MARKET
The preparations for this year’s Christmas Market on 21/22 November are going very well. We welcome books, gifts etc. Cakes on the day are especially welcome - the stall made a wonderful amount last year so a big thank you in advance. Proceeds from the sale will go towards new albs for the altar servers. We look forward to seeing you all. Thank you. Janet Butterworth.
