FR DAVID WRITES
In today's Gospel we hear about the feeding of the five thousand. This miracle of Jesus reminds us how God fed his pilgrim people with manna during their long journey through the wilderness towards the Promised Land. Today, in faith, we too come to be fed with the Bread of Heaven that the Lord gives to his pilgrim Church as we journey towards our heavenly homeland. We hope and pray that one day we will be gathered together again in God's kingdom at the supper of the Lamb. May the Bread of the Eucharist never be lacking again from the tables of our existence!

THANK YOU FROM FR DAVID
Fr David sends thanks to everyone for your kind birthday wishes, messages and cards. God bless you all.

MESSAGES TO THE PARISH
Many people have written kind and encouraging messages to the parish recently - some from all over the country! We have tried to reply to them all. It is good to hear from so many about your own experiences and to receive your kind wishes. As Fr Andrew says, 'Keep safe and keep smiling!'

THANK YOUS
A special thank you to those who have continued to help us look after the grounds and carpark in recent weeks - your help is greatly appreciated by the whole parish. Thank you to those who have continued to help neighbours and nearby parishioners, especially those who are continuing to shield at the moment. And finally, thank you all for your continued generosity to the parish.

HOLIDAYS
We hope that some of you may be able to get a break this August. If not, we pray that you will find some respite and relaxation at home. We wish a safe journey to all those who are travelling.

NO 6PM MASS THIS WEEK MONDAY-FRIDAY
Please note there will be no 6pm Mass (Monday-Friday). We do hope to resume the evening weekday Masses when both priests are back.

PARISH OFFICE
We will let you know next week about times and dates when the parish office will be manned by staff or not. Please ring during the office hours or email. A gentle reminder, please, that the office and presbytery are closed to visitors - no additional meetings at the current time apart from urgent/essential business. Thank you.

REMINDER ON HAND WASHING
Please remember that you MUST cleanse your hands on the way in to church - either with our hand sanitiser or your own. It is the most basic and effective thing we can do in looking after each other's health. No exceptions please.

FACE COVERING
The Prime Minister has announced that it will be mandatory to wear a face covering in places of worship, enforceable from 8th August. Thank you to everyone here who has already followed this rule in line with the 1M+ recommendation.
