OCTOBER
October is month of the Holy Rosary. You can join the rosary here every weekday at 9.30am, before 10am Mass. A plenary indulgence may be obtained, under the usual conditions, by reciting five decades of the Rosary in church, as a family at home, as a religious community or as a pious association, or in general whenever several persons have gathered for a good purpose; in every other circumstance, a partial indulgence may be gained.

CAFOD HARVEST FAST DAY
This coming Friday is Harvest Fast Day. Please remember to take part if you can, and keep any monies saved for the collection. The CAFOD Harvest Fast Day collection will be taken at all Masses next weekend. Please use the envelopes if you are able to offer Gift Aid on your donation. You can also donate online, so that, together, we can support doctors and other local experts to help families like Meera’s in Pakistan when they need it most. RCIA/JOURNEY IN FAITH
Soon we will begin a new Journey in Faith for adults who wish to be baptised, confirmed or received into full communion with the Catholic Church next Easter. The time of formation will begin in due course. Enquiry forms are now available in the church porch.
EARLY BIRD CHRISTMAS CARDS!
There is now a small stock of Christmas cards and other items for sale in the Paper Shop, open after the 8.45am, 10am and 11.15 Masses. If you attend the 12.30pm Mass please pop in beforehand. Thank you.
CONFIRMATION 2024
The registration for Confirmation in 2024 is now open. Please sign the list at the back of church and take the form to be completed. To be confirmed, each young person should be a baptised and practising Catholic and at least in Year 9. All forms to be returned by the 4th October—thank you. Please note that after this date the registration period will be considered as closed.
SCHOOL FORMS
Fr David will be available in the parish centre on Saturday 7 October at 5pm to sign paperwork for secondary school transfer. There is no need for parents to make an appointment but please bring all paperwork prepared. Thank you.
FOLK GROUP
In our Centenary year we find that the 11.15 Choir has been singing in our Parish for 50 years! They began in 1973 as ‘The Folk Group’, which became ‘The Family Mass Group’ and now the ‘11.15 Choir’! They invite you to join them on Friday October 13th to celebrate the occasion beginning with Mass in church at 7pm followed by refreshments in the Hall. All are welcome and if you know any past members, players or singers, please invite them too.
BERNADETTE CLUB
Our next meeting will take place from 2pm on Thursday 5 October. We will be having a return visit from Jean Turner who has kindly agreed to show us how to make impressive flower table arrangements for Christmas. Come along and see what can be done! We look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
