FR TOM WRITES
Thank you for such a warm welcome into the Parish over the last two weeks. As you are mostly aware this is my first placement being ordained in June so I ask for your continued prayers that I may be given the grace to serve the Lord, and the Parish. This Sunday we hear the Lord telling us that “if anyone wants to be first, he must make himself last of all and servant of all.” Many times we want to be in places of exaltation, however my experience is that in following the Lord in this mission of service is to truly participate in the love that He has manifest for the world.
‘WELCOME MASS’
The new school year and term has got off to a great start. This coming Friday in church we will celebrate our ‘Welcome Mass’ for the whole primary school to mark the start of the school year and seek God’s blessing for us all. All are welcome - please join us at 10 am.
MASS TIMES
There will be 8am Mass Tuesday—Thursday this week, plus 10 am Masses.
RCIA (JOURNEY IN FAITH)
If you would like to register your interest to become a Catholic, or a Catholic adult who needs to be confirmed, please speak to Fr David, Fr Tom or the office. If you would like to talk about the possibility or your current situation, please see one of the priests.
CONFIRMATION 2025
The Confirmation registration forms will be available from next weekend. The young candidates should be in year 9 or above to apply. (Over 18s should see the notice about the RCIA above).
SECONDARY SCHOOL FORMS
Fr David will be available to sign secondary school transfer forms on Saturday 12th October at 5pm. Please have forms completed for each school to be
applied to. Fr David politely requests that parents make every effort to attend at this time. If there are any issues or later forms that subsequently need signing or changing, please contact the parish office. Thank you.
ST JOSEPH’S/SATURDAY CLUB
There will be a meeting in the Parish Hall on Tuesday at 6.30pm for all those who volunteered to help with the Saturday Club here at Our Lady of Lourdes.
ST ANNE’S CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL
St Anne’s will be holding their Open Evening on Monday 30th September 2024 from 6pm to 8pm at the Enfield Campus, 50 London Road, Enfield, EN2 6EL.
FAIR TRADE
The first Fair Trade stall of the Autumn is after all Masses this weekend. Please call into the Hall to visit the stall for the first time since the summer break.
