FR DAVID WRITES
Today, the Fifth Sunday of Lent, was traditionally known as Passion Sunday as it marks the beginning of Passiontide: the inner heart of Lent that leads towards Holy Week and the Easter Triduum. Please make sure to join us in the days ahead as we celebrate the central mysteries of faith. Next Sunday is Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week itself. Next weekend, please make a special effort to be at church in good time for Mass so that you can participate in the blessing of palms. If you are beginning schools holidays, have a safe and joyful break but remember to join us at church in Holy Week. May God bless you all.

AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED
This  weekend we have an appeal from Aid to the Church in Need. ACN has stepped up its support for Christians in Lebanon, Syria and Holy Land in response to the deepening crisis offering food, medicine, help with education, pastoral programmes and other desperately-needed assistance. The war in Gaza has had a devastating economic impact on the Holy Land’s Christian population. Almost all Christians in the West Bank who worked in the tourism sector have lost their livelihoods due to the cancellation of pilgrimages. Cardinal Pizzaballa the patriarch of Jerusalem said,  “It is essential for Christians to remain in the region to keep the memory of Jesus alive in the land of Jesus”. There will be a retiring collection after all Masses.
