CONFIRMATION 2013:
Forms for Confirmation are now available for collection from one of the priests in the Sacristy (to the right of the church entrance) after all Masses, for those who registered their interest last summer.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS ON GOOD FRIDAY:
If you would like to volunteer to work with our presentation of the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, please leave your details on the list in the church porch.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS:
There will be Stations of the Cross during Lent on Fridays at 10.30 am and 7.30 pm. Parish groups or individuals who would like to lead an evening session are asked to put their name on the list in the porch.
SUNDAY EXPOSITION:
Exposition will take place on Sundays 17th February and 3rd and 17th March between 1 – 5.30 pm. Please sign the sheets in the porch so that all the half hour slots are filled.
LENT TALKS:
Our Lent Talks begins on Tuesday 19th February at 7.30 pm in the Hall. The first talk will be on the history and background of the Second Vatican Council.
LENTEN OBSERVANCES:
It is asked of us that we consider three things during the season of Lent as we prepare for Easter: prayer – opening to God; fasting – diminishing selfishness; and almsgiving – considering our neighbour. On this sheet are some suggestions as to how we can fulfil these observances this Lent.
LENTEN ALMS:
This Lent the Diocese have asked us to support the St John Southworth Fund and Aid to the Church in Need with our Lenten Almsgiving. Both assist those in need, either here at home, or abroad. This year AttCiN will be asked to give both emergency assistance to refugees fleeing the civil war in Syria and help them sustain their Faith in the long term. Please place your donation in the box in the porch marked Lenten Alms. Thank you.
TINS & TOILETRIES FOR THE HOMELESS:
During Lent we will be collecting for Homeless in Barnet. Once again, they request that we give toiletries as well as food. Please use the box at the back of the church. Thank you.
CAFOD LENT FAST DAY:
Friday 22nd February
God created a world of abundance with enough food for everyone, but we have turned it into a world of want: each night one in eight people goes to bed hungry. Please take an envelope and give up something this Friday, donating what you save to CAFOD. There will be a collection after all masses next weekend. Thank you.
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK MASS:
This will take place next Saturday, 23rd February, at 2.30 pm. There will be no 10 am Mass or morning confessions on this day.
COLLEEN COVE RIP:
The Requiem Mass is on Monday 25th February at 10 am.
SICK AND RETIRED PRIESTS FUND:
Thank you for your generosity. A total of £1,902 was raised for the Fund.
