FR DAVID WRITES
Well done and congratulations to all the children and their families who were officially enrolled in the First Holy Communion programme last Sunday at the 11.15 am Mass. Let us please keep them in our prayers during this important journey of formation. Today (Sunday) I am in Rome for the canonisation of Cardinal John Henry Newman. Please do look out for reports on the TV, radio and social media. I promise to pray for the whole parish at the tomb of the apostle Peter. This weekend we welcome back Fr Johnson who has been on retreat in Ars, France. We also welcome Fr Tom Thomas who is helping with celebrating Masses while I am away.

This Tuesday,15th October, the first of Fr Andrew’s talks on the Catholic Faith will be held at 7:45 pm  in the Small Hall.  This week’s talk is entitled 'The Meaning of Life'.  All are most welcome.

BETHLEHEM NATIVITY GROUP
Next weekend, a group from Bethlehem will visit us to briefly talk about the Holy Land and sell religious articles made out of olive wood to help and support the poor Christian families there.

THE PASSAGE,  a Christian Charity working with homeless people
There is a fundraising concert at the Royal Festival Hall on Tuesday 5th November on the theme Magic of Italian Opera with Petroc Trelawny as presenter. OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL
Aldi are running a ‘Kits for schools’ promotion in which 20 primary schools will win £20k and all the rest will win sports equipment. If you shop at Aldi could you please collect the stickers and drop them into the school post box or Parish Office. Thank you.

NEW SOUTHGATE BROWNIES
1st New Southgate Brownies are holding a Coffee Morning on Sunday 10th November after the 8.30, 9.45 and 11.15 am Masses. Proceeds to Street Kids Rwanda and an Animal Charity.

AUTUMNAL FAIR TRADE
The Fair Trade stall is after the 6.30 pm Mass on Saturday, and all three morning Masses on Sunday.  We will have plenty to warm and cheer you as Autumn turns to winter but, sadly, nothing to stop the rain.

AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED
ACN Annual Westminster event - Saturday 26th October This event will be a unique opportunity to gain insight and hear directly from those who have suffered persecution for their faith. The application process for Reception Class admissions is now open and the online Admissions Booklet and Guidance Notes are available for parents to view at www.enfield.gov.uk/admissions.   IMPORTANT NOTE: The application process for Reception Class 2020 places is comprised of two parts; parents will need to complete a Supplementary Information Form, available from the school website under the “Admissions” tab, or a hard copy from the school office, and must also make an online application via the online admissions portal which can be accessed via this link www.eadmissions.org.uk
