FR DAVID WRITES
Perhaps like you, I can hardly believe that we have already marked Remembrance Sunday (last week) and are almost at the Feast of Christ the King (next weekend). The strangest of years is almost at an end (please God, is there light at the end of tunnel?) Perhaps later we will have a better opportunity and perspective to make sense of just what has happened and how we have truly experienced it. For now, the lockdown goes on. Thank you for your prayers, support, love for each other, and kind messages which are shared throughout the parish. Let us persevere together! Finally, please keep me in your prayers next Sunday which will be the twelfth anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood; twelve years that have also gone by very quickly! God bless you all.

IICSA REPORT
This has been a difficult and distressing week for all victims and survivors of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. Please keep them in your prayers. The report by IICSA on the Church in England and Wales was published on Tuesday. You can visit the diocesan and Bishops’ Conference websites to read the statements and responses by Cardinal Nichols and Archbishop McMahon.

BISHOPS’ CONFERENCE PROJECT
This week we were visited by a photographer from the Bishops’ Conference. They are working on a project to catalogue pictures of the  churches for the 28 days of the current lockdown. We are pleased that our church was chosen to part of the work, in order to highlight how our churches are not only cherished sacred places but also safe spaces in the pandemic. When the finished photos are released, we will direct you to the website.

DAILY MOMENT OF PRAYER 6PM
The Cardinal has invited everyone to join in a daily moment of prayer at 6pm. This is not a liturgy or a broadcast, but something that each individual or family is called to share in personally. Please choose your own prayer or words at 6pm as we pray together during this difficult time of the pandemic, especially while we cannot come together for Mass in church.
