FR DAVID WRITES
Congratulations and best wishes to the children who celebrated their First Confessions here on Saturday morning. As you know, their programme of preparation for First Confession and First Holy Communion was very delayed by the restrictions and lockdowns. Their formal time of preparation has also been slightly condensed. However, they have done so well and we are all very proud of them. We also send best wishes and thanks to their parents and families who have supported them with so much love and prayers on their special journey. Many thanks to the catechists who have helped to prepare and support them. I am also grateful for the understanding of our parishioners who have stepped aside from 11am Mass to make room for our young candidates. This will only last for one more week now (see below)! On a personal note, I will have the great pleasure today (Sunday) of baptising my little nephew Leo James Phillips. Please pray for him on his special day, and for his parents Katy and Ben. Thank you for all your prayers.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FR. ANDREW
Today is a special day for Fr Andrew as he celebrates his 50th birthday! We send him our best wishes and congratulations. We were originally hoping to have a big parish party in the hall but unfortunately now that can’t happen—sad times! However, please do wish him a happy birthday. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his priesthood and for all his work among us. I’m also aware that when he came here in 2018 he didn’t ever imagine he would be locked down with me for so long! He has been a great priest, colleague and friend and helped us all so much. Ad multos annos Fr Andrew! DR

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION COURSE
The 11 am Mass today and next Sunday is for candidates for First Holy Communion and their families only.  Thank you for your co-operation and patience.

ADVANCE NOTICE
Tuesday 29th June will be the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul. Normally, a day of obligation, this year the obligation remains removed.

ORDINATIONS TO THE PRIESTHOOD
Please pray for the men who will be ordained to the priesthood next Saturday by Cardinal Vincent Nichols at Westminster Cathedral. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to open the celebration to the public because of the present restrictions. Please pray for Rev. Tim Mangatal who will begin his ministry here in our deanery when he takes up his appointment at Enfield Town Parish after the summer holidays.

MASS TIMES
Many thanks for the helpful reflections on Mass times. We were able to take these thoughts with us to the deanery meeting. We are still consulting and reflecting. As it happens, the postponement of the ending of restrictions has given us some more time. More to follow in due course.

FOUR SEASONS DRAW
If you would like to be entered in the Summer Draw, which will take place in July, please make sure that you have paid your subs. £3 per quarter for one ticket.  You can have as many tickets as you would like.

GIFT AID
Before we submit our claim for 2020/21 we need to make sure that all our records are up to date.  Please let the Parish Office know if you have moved and/or stopped paying tax in the last year.  Alternatively, if anyone would like to offer Gift Aid on their offering, please contact the office for a form.  Thank you.

CAFOD NATIONAL CAMPAIGN
We are taking part in this petition in advance of the "COP26" talks in Glasgow in November, to urge the Prime Minister to put the poorest countries at the forefront of the talks because Climate Change is already having drastic effects on the world's poor.  Please, take a minute to add your voice by signing a card. Thank you.

LOCAL FOOD BANK
Thank you to everyone has brought, and continue to bring, items for the food bank. Supplies are running a bit low at the moment, so if parishioners would like to contribute items by bringing them here to church, that would be much appreciated. Please think carefully about what kind of items might be appreciated or useful. Everything must be non-perishable. Other bathroom and household items are also needed. Thank you again for your generosity. On a related note, can we kindly ask that people do not bring old clothes and leave them in the church. We cannot take these and have no facilities for dealing with them, especially so in these restricted circumstances. Please take them to a charity shop or another facility that can accept them.
