FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
The whole parish joins in sending prayerful best wishes and congratulations to the children who celebrated their First Holy Communion here on Saturday. We also send thanks to their families who have supported them in their journey. In any parish, the grace of First Holy Communion day reminds the whole community of the beauty and spiritual significance of receiving the Holy Eucharist for the first time and throughout our lives. Jesus is the Living Bread who sustains and guides us through life. May we never lose our sense of amazement at the wonder of this gift that Christ brings to us as a pledge of future glory. Many thanks also to the team of catechists who have helped lead the children and their families, and to all who helped prepare for and celebrate these special Masses.
JULY - MONTH OF THE PRECIOUS BLOOD
July is the month of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus. We were reminded of this on 1st July when we celebrated the Feast of the Dedication of Westminster Cathedral. The cathedral is officially dedicated as the 'Metropolitan Cathedral of the Most Precious Blood'. A reminder that when it is not possible to receive Holy Communion from the chalice we are not deprived of the Precious Blood. When we receive Holy Communion in the sacred host, we still receive the whole Christ: Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity. Thanks be to God for the precious and wonderful gift of his own saving presence.

LOCAL FOOD BANK
A huge thank you to those who continue to donate every week. It really is appreciated enormously by the families that use the foodbank. Some of the following items are running low:
Washing liquid for clothes, shampoo/shower gel, kitchen cleaner, Dettol spray, hand soap, washing up liquid, 4 pack toilet rolls, instant coffee and team, tinned meat/tuna/tomatoes, pasta sauce, rice, pasta cereal, nappies size 5, sanitary products and toothpaste.
On a related note, can we kindly ask that people do not bring old clothes and leave them in the church. We cannot take these and have no facilities for dealing with them, especially so in these restricted circumstances. Please take them to a charity shop or another facility that can accept them.
