Today is the Fifth Sunday of Easter. Jesus gave his followers the new commandment of love: that they should love one another as God loves us. Let us remember this wonderful commandment in the work of the parish and in our daily lives. Welcome to the children and families who recently First Holy Communion. Today, the 11.15am Mass will be the celebration of thanksgiving and going forth. Please note that there is no early exposition on Monday this week before the 8am Mass. Fr Johnson will be back from Rome after this.
MAY: THE MONTH OF MARY
May is the month of Mary. Today (Sunday) there will be Rosary and Benediction in church at 4pm. Please join us to honour Our Lady and to pray to the Lord for our parish.
50TH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR LADY OF LOURDES PRIMARY SCHOOL
Last year, our school marked the 50th Anniversary of its opening in 1971. However, due to Covid, the plans were postponed until this year. On Friday 10th June at 2.30pm there will be a special Mass in church to mark the occasion. Bishop John Sherrington will be here to lead the celebration. Everyone is most welcome to attend! A special invitation goes to all past pupils, parents, teachers, helpers, and governors. Please join us. There is a reception in the school hall after the Mass. CATECHISTS FOR FIRST HOLY COMMUNION & CONFIRMATION
Our catechists do a wonderful job in helping children and families prepare for the sacraments. New catechists will be needed for the next Communion and Confirmation. If you would like to help please leave your name and number with the Parish Office—thank you.

The next meeting for candidates is 21st May at 4.50pm followed by Mass at 6pm.
DO YOU ENJOY SINGING?
The choir at the 10 am Mass would like to welcome new members. Being able to read music would be an advantage, but is not a necessity. Please let the Parish Office know.
PLATINUM JUBILEE 1952-2022
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee marking seventy years of the reign will be celebrated from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June. On the morning of Sunday 5th June, it would be nice to celebrate in the hall. Please bring a cake or other treats with you for a shared table after the 10am and 11.15 Masses. Our Scout groups will lead a special Church Parade that Sunday at the 11.15am Mass. It promises to be a lovely weekend.
DO YOU HAVE ‘GREEN FINGERS?’
We are all grateful to those parishioners who already generously help with the upkeep of front of the church and car park area. Fr Andrew also worked hard on the small garden in the courtyard outside the hall. Fr David is looking for a green fingered volunteer who might like to do some work to keep this area going and looking nice. Please speak to Fr David or the parish office.
