FR DAVID WRITES
On Thursday we all received the sad news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. In these coming days we will join  spiritually with people throughout the country, the commonwealth and the whole world as we pray for the happy repose of Her Late Majesty’s noble soul. We also pray for the King, the Queen and the all the members of the late Queen’s family who mourn her. The 10am Mass today (Sunday) will be a Requiem Mass, in accordance with the communications we have received from the diocese.

EMPOWERING VULNERABLE CHILDREN (EVC) UGANDA
A very big thank you for your generosity last weekend. A fantastic total of £3232 was donated. Ted and Judi send their thanks to everyone for this total and for the lovely welcome they received here last weekend.

SECONDARY SCHOOL TRANSFER
Fr David will be available to sign school forms on Wednesday 12 October and also on Saturday 15 October 5pm-6pm (both evenings) in the entrance of the parish centre. Please bring all paperwork prepared for signing.   

Tackling the Global Food Crisis – Wednesday 21st Sept 2.30pm Oakwood                      
Right now, over 20 million people in East Africa are facing a food crisis that could be worse than any we’ve lived through. CAFOD writer Jack Ellinas will share stories of communities he recently met in northern Kenya, and the local experts who are working alongside them to help. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION SIGN UP
This weekend, the sign up process for First Confession and First Holy Communion in 2023 is open. Children must be Catholic, be in at least Year 3 at school, and come to Mass here each week. Please complete the sign up sheet, and take an application form, read thoroughly and PRINT details carefully—so we can read the names and email address please. Please ensure you take a schedule and adhere to the closing the date. The yellow form should be returned to the presbytery by 18th September (through the letter box at the blue door). However, monies should be paid the parents meeting (please don’t put the money through the letter box).

BAPTISM
If you would like your child to receive the Sacrament of Baptism please come to a short meeting on Wednesday 14th September at 5pm in the Parish Centre.

RCIA
If you are interested in becoming a Catholic or learning more about the Catholic faith please collect a form from the Church Porch and return to the Presbytery.

FOOD BANK
Thank you to those who have continually supported the Food Bank collection—it is greatly appreciated. We continue to collect non perishable food for the foodbank. We need pasta, rice, tins and toiletries.  All items can be left in the blue box at the back of church.
