FR DAVID WRITES
November is the month of the Holy Souls. We had some beautiful celebrations this last week to mark All Saints and All Souls. Our prayers for the Holy Souls continue throughout the month and our Book of Remembrance will remain in place next to the Paschal Candle in church. There are some further commemorations in the parish, deanery and diocese. The dates are outlined below. We wish you all every blessing for the week ahead.

The music will be: R. Vaughan Williams: Five Mystical Songs, sung by Peter Coleman (Baritone) and Three Preludes on Welsh Hymn-tunes played by Deacon Ian Coleman (Piano and Organ) All are welcome - admission is free.

PAPER SHOP
Christmas cards are now available from the paper shop.

SICK AND RETIRED PRIESTS’ FUND
Our second collection today will be in support of the Sick & Retired Priests’ Fund. Most priests offer their resignation as parish priest at the age of 75, but many continue to serve their communities. Cardinal Nichols and the Diocese are committed to ensuring that no retired or sick priest is left without support. By giving a gift to the Sick & Retired Priests’ Fund, you will help ensure they are all cared for after years of service to God and their parishioners. The Diocese works closely with the NHS, local councils and social services, but there will nevertheless be gaps in funding and we need to ensure our priests have peace of mind in their senior years. Please take an envelope and complete the Gift Aid section if you are able. You can also give via the QR code, or on the website: www.rcdow.org.uk/donate.  Please also consider filling out a standing order form if you can. Please be generous and do remember our clergy, in active ministry, retired or ill, in your prayers. Thank you.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
Next Sunday, the church parade will take place at the 10am Mass.

OUR CHRISTMAS MARKET
This will take place in the Parish Hall on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th November after all Masses. We already have a lovely selection of gifts as well as a big Christmas raffle. Any offers of gifts or raffles prizes will be welcome and can be left at the Parish Office during opening hours or at the Church at weekend Mass times. Cakes on the day will be much appreciated. Do come along for your Christmas bargains. All money raised will go towards the Parish Centenary Church decoration. Many thanks - Janet Butterworth.
