FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONS
Congratulations to the children who celebrated their First Holy Communion here in church yesterday. Many thanks to the parents, families, catechists and teachers, musicians, servers and helpers. God bless you all.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: CARDINAL’S CENTENARY VISIT
We are very pleased to say that His Eminence the Cardinal will visit our parish and celebrate a special centenary Mass on Friday 16 June, 7pm, the solemnity of the Sacred Heart. This will be a very special occasion for us and a great celebration to mark the centenary of the parish. Please make a note of the date and time, and be sure to join us!
COUNTDOWN TO THE CORONATION
Next Saturday is Coronation Day. In the church porch you will find some lovely prayer cards produced by the Bishop’s Conference to help us pray for the King. Please take one. This Friday we have a simple Mass for the King’s intentions at 10am. Our Coronation Shared Lunch will take place here on Sunday 7 May at 1.15pm. Please join us for this special celebration!
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE CHURCH RIGHT NOW?
This week, the new shelves over the radiators were completed and painted. New storage was has been built in the room next to the sacristy. The statue of the Risen Christ has been taken off the wall, weighed, and dismantled for care and cleaning (he is currently suspended inside the scaffold). The structural engineer is creating a new bracket to support the statue which will also give clearance for the tabernacle below. A timber ‘mock-up’ of the tabernacle shelf has been created to assist with the work of the stone masons and others.

The Funeral Mass will take place here on Thursday 4th May at 10am.
CHOIR: SPECIAL APPEAL FOR SINGERS
Would you like to join our choir to form a special group of singers for the visit and Mass with the Cardinal on Friday 16 June? We would love to welcome singers for this occasion. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays at 7.30pm. Please see either Fr David or the choir.
VOCATIONS - PRIEST TRAINING FUND (PTF/WEEF)
This weekend our second collection will be in support of the Priest Training Fund, which benefits the parishes and the Diocese of Westminster by providing us with new Priests. The formation of our Priests is of top priority—it is our future. Priests are the heart of the Catholic Church, so please be as generous as you can to support this appeal and to continue to pray for the vocations of our seminarians.
BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY
Please note there will be one Mass only on Monday at 10am in the small hall. As Monday is a holiday, the church and office will be closed. Please enjoy your day!
PLANNED GIVING ENVELOPES
Envelopes for 2023/24 are now available at the back of the church. They are in numerical order and your number will be the same as last year. Please take yours as soon as you can. If you can’t find your box, please email the Parish Office.
CONFIRMATIONS 2023: IMPORTANT CHANGE
The Confirmation Mass will now take place at St Mary Magdalen’s, Athenaeum Road, Whetstone, on the same date and time as advertised: Friday 12 May at 7pm. All candidates should be present by 6.30pm in order to be seated.
BAPTISMS
If you would like your child to receive the Sacrament of Baptism please come to the next meeting on Wednesday 17th May at 5pm in the Parish Centre.

BERNADETTE CLUB NEWS
The May gathering of the Club is on May 4th at 2 pm, where they will be celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III. There are a few spare seats on the coach to Canterbury on Tuesday 16th May leaving from the church at 10am, £20 each. If you would like to join us please call Jackie 07956 809152.
