FR DAVID WRITES
We hope you are all enjoying the holiday weekend, and also hope that many of you were able to watch and pray along with the coronation ceremony yesterday. The Pope was represented by the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin and by the Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain. Cardinal Nichols was also present to join in the blessing. Today (Sunday) please join us in the hall at 1.15pm for the coronation shared lunch. If you are able to bring a dish, please do! Thank you to all the helpers who have worked to make this a special celebration. We had two wonderful First Holy Communion celebrations last weekend - thank you to all involved! Finally, we are greatly looking forward to the Confirmations which will take place on Friday at 7pm in St Mary Magdalen’s Church, Whetstone, with Bishop John Sherrington.
CARDINAL’S CENTENARY VISIT
His Eminence the Cardinal will celebrate a special centenary Mass here on Friday 16 June, 7pm. This will be a special occasion for us and a great celebration to mark the centenary. Please make a note of the date and time, and be sure to join us!
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE CHURCH RIGHT NOW?
This week, further work has taken place on the statue; more scaffolding arrived; the decorators have repaired the sanctuary wall and begun to re-paint it; the sanctuary ceiling has been redecorated in Our Lady’s blue and gold. You will also see a new cross has been made for the lovely corpus which hangs near the organ. Thank you!
BUILDING FUND: GRATEFUL THANKS
On behalf of the whole parish, a huge thank you to those who have very generously given to the building fund. The amount received, including Gift Aid, is currently £10,475. There is also the remaining Growing in Faith fund (£22,653) that has been waiting to be used on this project. Any more contributions would be gratefully received. Please contact the office or take a blue envelope from the church porch.
ADVANCE NOTICE: ASCENSION THURSDAY
The solemnity of the Ascension is Thursday week, 18 May. Masses here will be at 8am, 10am and 7.30pm. (9.10am in the primary school for pupils and staff only).
CHOIR: SPECIAL APPEAL FOR SINGERS
Would you like to join our choir to form a special group of singers for the Cardinal’s Mass on Friday 16 June? Rehearsals are on Tuesdays at 7.30pm. Please see either Fr David or the choir.

CONFIRMATIONS 2023: IMPORTANT CHANGE
The Confirmation Mass will take place at St Mary Magdalen’s, Athenaeum Road, Whetstone, on the same date and time as advertised: Friday 12 May at 7pm.

MICHAEL COLLINS RIP - ST MONICA’S CHURCH
The Funeral Mass for Michael Collins will take place this Wednesday, 11.30am, at St Monica’s Church, Palmers Green.
