FR DAVID WRITES
We had a lovely Mothers Day last weekend and hope all our mothers had a special day. Today is the Fifth Sunday of Lent (the beginning of Passiontide) and next week we will celebrate Palm Sunday which is the start of Holy Week. I hope that we will all be able to live these special days with faith, devotion and participation at church.

HOLY WEEK MASS TIMES
Sheets are available from the church porch which outline times of Masses here in Holy Week. Holy Week will begin on Palm Sunday, which is next Sunday, 24 March.

VIRGINIA MELVIN RIP
The funeral will take place on Tuesday 26th March at 10am.  May she rest in peace.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Stations of the Cross on Friday morning after the 10 am Mass (except Good Friday).

‘WALK WITH ME’ BOOKLETS
Would you like a daily prayer reflection for every day in Lent? ‘Walk with Me’ Lent booklets are available in the paper shop, price £1 each.

WEEKDAY ROSARY
The Rosary is said everyday before the 10am Mass.  Why not join in as part of your Lenten observances?

HOLY THURSDAY - FOOT WASHING
There is a list in the porch you can sign if you would like to have your foot washed during the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday, 28 March, at 7.30 pm. There are 12 people needed. Please sit on the outside end of the pew at the Mass.

CAFOD
A very big thank you for your generosity for the Family Fast Day collection.  A total of £1,632 was donated.

LENTEN ALMS
Thank you also for your donations last weekend to the Lenten Alms appeal, which raised £878.00.

AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED
This weekend we have an appeal from Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) which is a Pontifical Foundation. One of its missions is to support persecuted Christians. ACN supports more than 5,000 projects internationally. ACN provides emergency aid for Christians who lost their livelihoods because of the war in Gaza. The new aid package includes life-saving medicine, food coupons, help with tuition fees and housing costs. There will be a retiring collection after all Masses. If you wish to get involved in the charity, or if you wish to be an ACN volunteer, please contact John Ravi on 07932973650, This email address is being protected from spambots. RCIA (JOURNEY IN FAITH)
The next session will take place on Monday 18th March at 7.30pm.

CONFIRMATION
Candidates are reminded of their meeting on Saturday 23rd March at 4.15pm.

ST PATRICK & ST JOSEPH
This year the Feast of St Patrick falls on Sunday 17 March. Because the Sundays in Lent take precedence, we will say the Mass for St Patrick on Monday 18 March at 8 am and 10 am. The solemnity of St Joseph, husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary, will take place the following day, Tuesday 19 March, which is its proper day.

ANNUAL MASS OF THANKSGIVING FOR THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY
Westminster Cathedral Saturday 25th May 2024 at 2:30pm. The Cardinal is inviting, to this Mass, all couples in the Diocese, who are celebrating significant wedding anniversaries of Catholic marriage in 2024.  If this is you, and you would like to attend, please email the Parish Office with the following details: husband and wife’s names, wedding date, full postal address and email (or number, if no email).

FAIR TRADE
The Fair Trade Stall is in the hall after all masses next weekend and there is a limited number of "Real" Easter chocolate eggs available.
