FR DAVID WRITES
Welcome back once again if you have just returned from summer holidays. We hope that the new school year has got off to a great start for everyone involved, and we keep you all in our prayers. I was sorry not to be able to join in the special Mass on Wednesday morning at Finchley Catholic for the new Year 7s and parents but trust it all went well. Today we give a special welcome to Fr Tom Blackburn who joins our parish as the new assistant priest. He was ordained at the end of June in the cathedral. Over the coming weeks and months, Fr Tom will get to know us, as we get to know him, and we pray that the Holy Spirit will bestow many graces on us all through his priestly ministry which he now begins.

WORKS IN THE CHURCH
Stress-testing is taking place before the stone can be installed. This will be done by placing weight on the sanctuary. This is due diligence but we do not anticipate any difficulties (please God). Please try to ignore, if you can, the materials in the sanctuary - hopefully it will be short lived. Thank you for your patience with all this.

PARKING IN THE ARNOS GROVE AREA (CHURCH, HALL & SCHOOL)
Enfield Council are proposing changes to the Arnos Grove Controlled Parking Zone. The council’s proposal is to increase the parking restriction times to 8am -7.30 pm Monday to Sunday which will greatly impact our parish. Details of the proposals can be viewed on the council’s consultation website - consultation ends on Friday 13 September. Please do write in via the council website and bear in mind that it will impact us here.
