FR TOM WRITES
On Friday evening our parish was filled with joy as we celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation. Surrounded by family, friends, catechists and parishioners, the first half of this years candidates received the fullness of the Holy Spirit through the anointing of chrism and the laying on of hands. With this sacrament the Church confirms these young people as followers of Jesus Christ, and gives them the gifts to make his love known in the world.
We also rejoice as we prepare for the installation of Bishop John as the Archbishop of Liverpool, this coming Tuesday. I am fortunate enough to be able to travel up for the installation, and (opportunity permitting) I will pass all your best wishes and thanks on to him.
ASCENSION THURSDAY
Thursday is a holy day of obligation and there will be Masses at 8am, 10am & 7pm.
PARISH OFFICE
Will be closed on Monday (Bank Holiday).
AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED
On behalf of Aid to the Church in Need, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the parishioners for your continuous support to Aid to the Church in Need. Following the appeal on 5th/ 6th April, we have raised a total of £2,326.95. Fr David and many of you are long-standing friends and benefactors of ACN. Thank you for your solidarity, your prayers and your generous offerings. The war in Gaza has had a devastating economic impact on the Holy Land’s Christian population. What we have done so far in the Holy Land would have been impossible without your kindness. Your prayers and support will make a huge difference. Thank you.
John Ravi, Aid to the Church in Need
