FR DAVID WRITES
Today is the Third Sunday of Easter when we hear the beautiful Gospel account of the two disciples who meet the Risen Lord on the way to Emmaus. He comes to meet us too, as he opens our hearts and reveals his presence in the Breaking of Bread. Let us continue to live these joyful days of Easter with faith and devotion. Please pray for the children and young people in our parish at this sacramental time.
CONFIRMATION
Congratulations to 54 young people from our parish who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday evening. Please pray for those who were confirmed, and for their families, friends and sponsors.
FIRST CONFESSION & FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
Congratulations to all the children who made their First Confession this weekend. They are now in their final preparations before receiving their First Holy Communion on Saturday 2 May. Please continue to pray for them.
PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS & PRIESTS’ TRAINING FUND
Next Sunday, the Fourth of Easter, is known as Good Shepherd Sunday. It is also the World Day of Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood. Next weekend at Mass, we will hear a pastoral message from Archbishop Moth about the necessity to pray earnestly for vocations and about how we can support and nurture vocations in our parish communities. Next week, we will also take the collection for the Priests’ Training Fund which supports the formation of men who are responding to God’s call to serve in our diocese. Their journey involves years of preparation equipping them to serve communities in the years ahead. Your support helps make this formation possible. Thank you in advance for your generosity to this important appeal for our diocese.
