FR TOM WRITES
On Thursday, we celebrated the Ascension of Our Lord into Heaven, which leads us into the novena to the Holy Spirit which will culminate in the great feast of Pentecost next weekend. When Christ ascended, he assured the apostles of his continuing help in announcing the Good News. The Good News is that this same Holy Spirit is offered to us. May we truly prepare ourselves to receive this gift; that we may be filled with the Spirit which leads Christians through life. May God bless us all in this coming week and may the Holy Spirit bring manifold gifts into our own lives and families.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION ‘GOING FORTH MASS’
The children who made their First Holy Communion will all come together this Sunday at the 11.15am Mass, in thanksgiving for the great gift they have received. Let us pray that the Heavenly Food they now receive may truly strengthen them in their Christian life and keep them always united to God.

PRAYERS FOR VOCATIONS
You are invited to pray after 10 am Mass on Fridays before the Blessed Sacrament. Please join us in praying for this important intention. This coming Friday the intention is: ‘For your parish’s priests and all clergy serving in the diocese.’

PUBLIC HEALTH NOTICE
The UK Health Security Agency has contacted Fr David to say that an individual who has visited this church has been diagnosed with tuberculosis. As this is a notifiable disease, we are required to announce this. There is a letter to parishioners in the church porch and an information sheet (also on the notice board). Please feel free to take one. The risk of contracting TB here is very low and no one is required to have screening. If you have symptoms of TB or are very vulnerable, contact your GP for advice and tell them about this notice and the letter. Thank you for your attention.
