When the writer of Proverbs looks for an image to finish his book, and sum up what practical wisdom looks like, he offers a picture the ‘Perfect Wife’.

1 Thessalonians 5: 1-6
As Paul writes to some  of the earliest Christians, he is concerned that they learn to live their lives in joyful expectation, rather than in anxiety about the future.

Matthew 25: 14-30
Today’s Gospel tells us the familiar parable of the ‘talents’.  However small the work set before us, we are each called to respond with care and creativity.
