Acts 8: 5-8. 14-17

Philip preaches in a Samaritan town and has great success.  Peter and John lay hands on those who have been baptised and the Samaritans receive the Holy Spirit. 

1 Peter 3: 15-18

Peter reminds his readers to reverence Christ in their hearts, to witness to Christ and to be courteous.  If it is the will of God that they should suffer, it is better to suffer for what is right than for what is wrong. 

John 14: 15-21

Jesus addresses his disciples, saying that if they love him they must keep his commandments.  Jesus says he will be leaving but that he will send the Spirit of truth to be with them. 

Acts 6: 1-7

After a dispute between the Greeks and the Hebrews within the New Christian community, the Twelve delegate responsibility for charitable distribution of food.  The word of God continues to spread. 

1 Peter 2: 4-9

Peter writes of Jesus being the living stone chosen by God to be the cornerstone.  By following Jesus we may all become living stones in this spiritual house. 

John 14: 1-12

Jesus teaches the disciples at the Last Supper, saying that he is ‘The way, the Truth and the Life’, and that he is in the Father as the Father is in him.  He promises that his disciples will perform great works. 

Acts 2: 14: 22-33

It is the feast of Pentecost and Peter preaches to the gathered crowds about the resurrection of Jesus. 

1 Peter 1: 17-21

It is through the blood of Jesus, whom God raised from the dead, that we now have faith in God. 

Luke 24: 13-35

Two disciples on the road to Emmaus are joined on the road by the risen Jesus, who explains the scriptures to them and helps them to make sense of his death and why it was necessary.
