Jesus tells of the owner of a vineyard sending his servants and even his son to collect the vineyard’s fruit.  These are all killed or abused by wicked tenants, so the owner takes the vineyard from them and leases it to others who will produce its fruit. 

Ezekiel 18: 25-28
It is right that we receive the just rewards of our actions, good or evil. 

Philippians 2: 1-11
In our minds we must be like Christ Jesus, who emptied himself that he might be raised by God in glory. 

Matthew 21: 28-32
We receive the reward of true righteousness. 

Isaiah 55: 6-9
Let us turn back to our generous and loving God who is always ready to forgive, for the ways of God are not our ways.
