To celebrate the 85th anniversary of the foundation of the parish, there will be a dinner dance on Saturday 9th February 2008 - so everyone will have had plenty of time to digest their Christmas dinners. The venue is the Penridge Banqueting Suite on the roundabout at the junction of Bowes and Waterfall Roads , within walking distance of the church, and it will be a great opportunity to get together with old friends and make new ones.

The evening, which kicks off at 7.30pm for 8pm, gets going with a complimentary cocktail reception, followed by a three-course meal, a live band and dancing. All this for £40. Any profits will go towards the church refurbishment fund. Tickets are numbered and table allocation is by number, so you can ensure you're sitting with friends.

Our LadyThe parish will be going to Lourdes next year and I would be grateful for an early indication of interest. The dates will be from Monday the 20th to Friday the 24th of October 2008, the half term week. We expect to depart on a chartered flight from Stansted airport direct to Lourdes in the morning, returning in the early afternoon. The cost will be £455 per person. We are booked to stay at the Mediterranee Hotel, the same hotel that looked after us so well in 2006.

2008 is a very special year. It is the 150th Anniversary of the apparitions to St Bernadette and is also our 85th parish Anniversary! Because there is likely to be a strong demand I have been required to pay a deposit of £250.00 to secure our booking.
