CONFIRMATION 2018:
Application forms are available for this year’s Confirmation Course. Candidates should be in year 9 or above. Please sign for, and take, a form today from the Paper Shop and return it on the Parents/candidates information and registration evening Tuesday 27th February at 7.30 pm.
ITALIAN MASS:
Fr. Gabriele will be saying Mass in Italian on Saturday, 10th February, at 4 pm.
THE JANUARY SALE:
After a very successful sale last month we still have some unclaimed raffle prizes which can be claimed from the Parish Office during opening times or from the Paper Shop at the weekend. Prizes can be claimed up to 7th February, please check your tickets you could be a winner! Thank you Janet Butterworth.
FEBRUARY BAPTISM COURSE:
If you would like to have your baby baptised please come to the Parish Hall on Monday 5th February to complete an application form and speak with the catechist. The second part of the course follows on Monday 12th February.
PRAY FOR PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS:
Please join the parish Aid to the Church in Need Group to pray the rosary for persecuted Christians throughout the world every Sunday at 10.45 am in Our Lady's Chapel in front of the Blessed Sacrament. All are welcome.
YOUNG ADULTS SUNDAY MEETING:
The group have a meeting this evening at 7.15 pm in the Parish Hall.
PAPER SHOP/READERS ROTAS:
If you do not get your rota by email, there are a few copies in the paper shop. If you would like to receive it by email please let the Office know.
PARISH SOCIAL – 10th FEBRUARY:
If you have booked a ticket but haven’t paid for it, please let us know if you still want it, as there is a growing list of “reserves” who would like to come to the Social. Please call/email the Office Monday or Tuesday.
FEAST DAY MASS:
On Sunday 11th February, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, patroness of our church and parish, the Mass at 9.45am will be in honour of Our Lady.
CELEBRATION MASS:
Our Lady of Lourdes School will be joining us for the 10 am Mass on Thursday, 8th February, for their celebration of our Patronal Feast Day.
OFFERTORY COUNTERS ROTA:
New rotas are available for collection in the paper shop. Counters please note change of numbers for your group. If you would prefer to receive your rota by email, please let the Office know.
CARDINAL’S MASS OF THANKSGIVING FOR THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY:
This takes place at Westminster Cathedral on Saturday, 19th May at 3 pm. The Cardinal will be inviting all couples in the Diocese who are celebrating their 5th 10th, 25th, 30th, 40th, 50th and 60th (and every year over 60) wedding anniversary of Catholic marriage in 2018. If this is you, please give the parish office the following details: husband and wife’s names, wedding date, full postal address and email (or telephone number, if no email).
FAIR TRADE STALL:
Our Fair Trade stall is open in the Hall at the usual times next weekend. It closes at 12.30 pm, so if you attend the 12.30 Mass, please pop into the Hall just before.
HOLY LAND PARISH PILGRIMAGE:
There are still some places on the Pilgrimage (15th – 20th October) There are some forms in the paper shop or you can book via Tangney Tours on 01732 886666 if you would like to go.
