PARISH CENTRE
The work in the parish centre has progressed well but we have encountered one or two unforeseen delays. We were hoping to reopen on 1 September. This may well be possible but it may take a day or two for things to be properly restored. Come what may, the AA group will meet on Thursday evening, and Memory Lane on Friday morning. Otherwise, please bear with us. Thank you for your patience!

ARCHBISHOP ROCHE
Congratulations to Archbishop Arthur Roche, the prefect of the Dicastery for Divine Worship in Rome who was made a Cardinal by Pope Francis yesterday. Bishop Roche, from Leeds, was Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster from 2001-2002, and then Bishop in Leeds 2002-2012.

BERNADETTE CLUB
Due to unforeseen circumstances we will not be able to have our September meeting as hoped. The next meeting of the Bernadette club will be at 2 pm on Thursday 6 October. We look forward to seeing everyone then.

THE RELICS OF ST BERNADETTE—WESTMINSTER CATHEDRAL
For the first time in history the relics of St Bernadette will be touring England. This very special once in a lifetime event will provide an opportunity for people of to experience the gifts and charisms of Lourdes. You are invited to visit Westminster Cathedral for this special event on the weekend of 3-5 September. The veneration of the relics will start on Saturday 3 September at 1 pm and will last until Monday 5 September at 6 am. There is no need for advance booking. Visitors are invited to come at a time suitable for them and join the queue on the piazza for entry via the west door. EMPOWERING VULNERABLE CHILDREN (EVC) UGANDA - 3/4 SEPTEMBER

We continue to collect non perishable food for the foodbank.  We especially need pasta, rice, tins & toiletries.  All items can be left in the blue box at the back of church.
