Welcome to the First Sunday of Advent and the beginning of a new liturgical year in the Church’s calendar! Advent is a season which prepares us, through the gift of hope, for the coming of the Lord into our lives. It also prepares us for the great celebration of his holy birth at Christmas. We have some free books for Advent, ‘Walk with Me’, in the church porch with reflections for every day of this special season. Today, after all Masses, we have our Christmas Market. Please do visit the hall after Mass. Finally, on Tuesday I drove the first consignment of Christmas gifts to the Catholic Children’s Society at Ladbroke Grove - thank you to those who brought gifts. There is still time to donate a gift for a child this Christmas, so please don’t forget what a difference this could make to a little person at Christmas. God bless you all and happy Advent!

SPIRITAN APPEAL

CATHOLIC CHILDREN’S SOCIETY CHRISTMAS GIFT APPEAL
We are collecting new toys (not second hand) for children facing a Christmas without presents on behalf of the Catholic Children’s Society of Westminster. Please see the poster in the church porch. Presents can be left (unwrapped) in the Office during opening hours or in the Small Hall after Masses. The last day to bring any gifts will be Sunday morning, 4 December. Thank you in advance for your help and generosity.
OUR LADY OF LOURDES PRIMARY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS FAIR
Saturday 3rd December 12 noon - 3pm. It’s been a while but our Christmas fair is back with a range of stalls, Santa’s Grotto, home-cooked food, arts and crafts, raffle and more. We would love to see you there!
CHRISTMAS WITH CHRIST PROJECT - CHARITY TEA
You are invited to a Charity Tea at Our Lady of Lourdes on Saturday 3rd December after the 4pm and 6pm Mass. Tickets are £7 and includes fresh vegetable soup, bread, a slice of cake and a soft/hot drink. All money raised will be sent to buy gifts and snacks for children during Christmas time at some of the remote communities in Bahia (Brazil) and Cancao Nova in Mozambique (Africa). Tickets will be available at the end of Mass from Monica or at the Parish Office during opening hours. Thank you for your support.
OUR LADY OF LOURDES PRIMARY SCHOOL
Children and staff from Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School will join us for 10 am Mass this Tuesday morning to mark the beginning of the Advent season.
CONFIRMATION APPLICATIONS 2023
If you are in Year 9 or above and would like to join the Confirmation programme please sign the sheet in the church porch and collect an application form and programme. Forms to be returned to the presbytery letter box by 4th December.

BERNADETTE CLUB — THURSDAY 1 DECEMBER
We look forward to seeing all our members at 2pm on Thursday for our grand Christmas Tea. There will be tea and cake, sandwiches, good company, entertainment and a Christmas raffle.
