CLERGY MOVES - FR DAVID WRITES
As you know, Fr Jerome has been appointed Parish Priest of St John Vianney, West Green. Fr Jerome will take up his new appointment at the beginning of September, after the summer holidays. Fr Andrew O’Connell has been appointed to take over as assistant priest here. He will begin early by celebrating some of the Sunday Masses during the summer, before officially moving in at the start of September. So there will be some overlap of the curates while I am away on my summer break. I know you will make him very welcome. Please keep them both in your prayers as they prepare for their new appointments. Please pray for those who were ordained recently as deacons and priests to serve in our diocese.

TERRY BRIGHT RIP
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Terry Bright who sadly died this week.

PETER’S PENCE
There will be a collection for Peter’s Pence, a charity administered by His Holiness the Pope, this weekend after all Masses.

CHURCH & GROUNDS
Thank you to those who have continued to care for the church and grounds recently, including by looking after the plants, shrubs, cutting the grass and cleaning the car park. Many thanks to those who continue to generously give towards the church building fund. Some of our parishioners also kindly removed some rubbish which had been illegally tipped here. We are all most grateful.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION APPLICATIONS 2024
Application forms are now available in the church porch for next year’s First Holy Communion programme. Please complete the sign up sheet and take an application form.  These should be returned by 13th August along with the requested seating plan information. Please take note of this important information.

PARISH BARBECUE
As part of our centenary celebrations, there will be a Parish Barbecue in the courtyard on the evening of Friday 14 July. This promises to be a really lovely summer celebration, with food and a bar. Tickets are available this weekend after Mass, and now also from the Parish Office. Please do get a ticket and be sure to join us! If you would like to help, please speak to Joe or Mary Sutton.  Tickets are also available from the Parish Office.

AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED GROUP
Our ACN group invite parishioners to join them in praying the rosary for persecuted Christians after the 10am Sunday Mass. They also invite new members to join them. Please speak to Anuli Igboaka or one of the priests. They are holding a short meeting this morning, at 11.30 am in the Small Hall to share ideas and plan for Red Wednesday followed by lunch at the Arnos Arms (if pre-booked).

MUSIC FOR DEMENTIA
Is holding a ‘Thank you day’ today, July 2nd. Music offers powerful help to people living with dementia and can become a lifeline for them and their families/carers.  For more information and to support  Music for Dementia. Maureen Molloy has information and leaflets in the Hall after the 10am Mass today or visit the website www.musicfordementia.org.uk

APOSTLESHIP OF THE SEA
There will be a collection for AoS next Sunday, July 9th, after all Masses. Seafarers play a vital role in all our lives, but they often work in difficult conditions. Many are denied the right to leave their ships even for a short break, and many are reporting increased stress and poor mental health. Next Sunday the Church prays for those who live and work at sea and your support makes a big difference. You can also donate by visiting: www.stellamaris.org.uk/donate or by texting “SEA” TO 70460 to donate £5. There are also some envelopes at the back of the church if you would like to gift aid your donation. Thank you.

FOUNDATION GOVERNORS
If you are interested in serving as a Foundation Governor at a Catholic school in the Diocese of Westminster, please speak to Fr David for more information. You can learn more about the role via this link:  https://education.rcdow.org.uk/governance-admissions/foundation-governors/ Serving as a Governor is very rewarding and schools are always looking for volunteers to share their experience and skills. We have serving Governors in the parish who would be happy to share their experiences with you too.
