FR DAVID WRITES
Today is Pentecost Sunday, a feast which celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Church and which also marks the end of the Easter season. However, Pentecost is not about endings but beginnings. Please pray for the Church and for our parish, they we may be emboldened to continue the mission of the Christian life all the way to the end. Today at the 11.15 Mass we give thanks to God the gift of our recent First Holy Communions and send forth these young people to live the life of the Holy Spirit. Happy Pentecost!

CONFIRMATIONS
Thank you to all involved in the Confirmations last weekend, and we send all our congratulations to young people who were Confirmed. God bless you all!

FR JOHNSON
Father’s farewell Mass and celebration is next Saturday at 11 am, followed by refreshments in the hall. Please join us. Today there will be a collection for Fr Johnson to form a presentation in thanksgiving for his 12 years of ministry here.

8AM MASSES
As mentioned last weekend, we will endeavour to keep as many 8am Masses as possible. However, we need to recognise that this will not be possible everyday and certainly not when there is only one priest here (e.g. holidays). In general, the Masses will likely be Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, but we can keep things under review. Fr Johnson leaves on 30 May.

MAY
May is the month of Mary. Please join us at 9.30 am every weekday morning—Monday to Friday—to pray the rosary in church.

MASS INTENTIONS
Because there will now be fewer priests, this means there will be fewer Mass intention opportunities and we are already well ahead in bookings. Please think about how you formulate your Mass intention requests. For example, if you would like 3 Masses for 3 family members, please consider requesting one Mass for them together. It is not required that each individual should have a separate Mass: God is infinite, and thankfully, so is his mercy. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

STONE WORK IN THE CHURCH
Thankfully, our stonemasons decided it would be better to do much of the work offsite, which has meant we have avoided lots of mess and disruption. However, they are likely to be back this week to make some further progress in the church.

BERNADETTE CLUB
The next meeting of the Bernadette Club will take place on Thursday 6th June when we look forward to seeing you.

SUNDAY TEA & COFFEE
Please join us in the hall after 8.30, 9.45 and 11.15 Masses on Sunday morning for tea, coffee, biscuits, and an opportunity to chat with other parishioners. Thank you to those who help to run the tea and coffee every week— it is much appreciated by everyone.

OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL
Help our school get £1,500. Our school has applied for a grant from Tesco to upgrade the infant playground. We will be up against other schools and whoever gets the most votes will win the £1,500. To vote you need to shop at Tesco and ask for the blue token when you check out. We will be in local stores—Colney Hatch Lane, Hampden Square, Whetstone and others from April to June—thank you.

FAIR TRADE
The stall will be this weekend after all Sunday masses on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May.
