FR DAVID WRITES
Today is the Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Next weekend we will celebrate the solemnity of the apostles Peter and Paul (normally a holy day when it falls during the week). Thank you to everyone who came to our special Mass at the cemetery chapel and then the prayer service at Waterfall Road. Next Saturday at the cathedral the ordinations to the priesthood will take place. Please pray for Tom Blackburn, Domagoj Matokovic, and Robert Smialek who will receive their ordinations that day (the Mass begins at 10.30am at Westminster).

CARITAS ST JOSEPH’S
Next weekend we welcome a member of Caritas St Joseph’s who will be giving a short talk at the end of all Masses telling us about Saturday Clubs and how they support individuals with learning disabilities, their families and friends. They are also looking for volunteers to help with Saturday Clubs.

NEXT WEEKEND: PARISH CENTENARY BOOK
Our special commemorative book, looking back on last year’s parish centenary, and the activities and history of the parish, is almost ready for release. The books will be on sale next weekend at all Masses: suggested price £5 each. Many thanks to all who contributed, and to Edoardo Alberto for editing and producing the lovely brochure.

NEW LECTIONARY FOR MASS
The Bishops of England and Wales have authorised for a brand new Lectionary to be published for use in all Masses, using the English Standard Version (Catholic Edition). The Psalms will be taken from the Abbey Psalter. You can read more about this matter on the websites of the CTS (Catholic Truth Society) and CBCEW (Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales).

FUNERALS
The Funeral Mass for Celestine Babs-Jonah is on Thursday 27th June at 10am. The Funeral Mass for Eileen Winters is on Wednesday 3rd July at 10am. The Funeral Mass for Tomas Mamawag is on Thursday 11th July at 10am. RIP.

BERNADETTE CLUB MEMBERS
Please note that as the Parish Centre is being used for polling for the general election, 4 July, we will have the July meeting of the Bernadette club one day earlier than usual. We will meet at 2pm on WEDNESDAY 3 JULY when we look forward to seeing you. A reminder to members: we will be collecting names and payment for our coach trip to Herne Bay, 11 September (£20) and for tickets to Sister Act at Wyllyotts theatre, 19 October (£20).

PARISH AFTERNOON TEA
The planning for the Afternoon Tea is well in hand. This will be the last weekend for signing up, as I need to have an idea of numbers for catering.  Looking forward to seeing you on the 21st July. Thank you—Janet Butterworth

GENERAL ELECTION & RESOURCES
The Catholic Union of Great Britain has released pre-election material for Catholics which you can view on their website. There are some sheets with a brief summary available in the church porch if you would like to take one. A reminder that the hall here will be a polling station on Thursday 4th July.

CONFIRMATION PHOTOGRAPHS
Will be available in the small hall this Monday evening 6.30pm—9pm and the following Monday 1st July 6.30pm—9pm.  Please note it will be cash only.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2025
Forms will be available from the beginning of September.  The programme begins in January and will run on Saturday mornings 10am—11.15am.

OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL SUMMER FAYRE
Saturday 29th June 1pm—4pm. Come along and enjoy a range of stalls as well as a BBQ, arts & crafts, penalty shoot out, homemade cakes, raffle and more!

TOILET FACILITIES
Please use the parish centre toilets rather than the church toilet—if possible!
