FR DAVID WRITES
Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate the Feast of All Saints and then All Souls Day so well. May God bless you all. We hope everyone had a good half-term break, and wish you all well for the coming half-term which will lead us through November and Advent. Have a wonderful week ahead.

THE HOLY SOULS IN NOVEMBER
November is the month of the Holy Souls when we pray for the faithful departed. Thank you to everyone who brought names for our Parish Book of Remembrance. The names will remain next to the Paschal Candle in church during this month, and we will celebrate Masses for the Holy Souls throughout November. The Mass for the Deceased Members of the Deanery will take place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St George’s, Enfield, on Tuesday 12 November at 12 noon. The Mass for the Deceased Priests of the Diocese is on Tuesday 19 November, beginning at 5.30pm in Westminster Cathedral. Finally, next Sunday is Remembrance Sunday. Young people from the uniformed groups here (Scouts etc) will hold the Church parade at 9.45am Mass.

CHRISTMAS MARKET
The preparations for this year’s Christmas Market are already well in hand.  It will take place in the Parish Hall on 23rd/24th November after all Masses.  We welcome any books, fancy goods, jewellery etc.  Homemade cakes will be especially welcome on the day.  Last year the cake stall was the best ever, so a big thank you in advance.  Proceeds from the sale will complete the cost of the candlesticks for the altar.  Looking forward to seeing you all over the weekend.  Janet Butterworth.

BERNADETTE CLUB
Our next meeting will take place on Thursday 7 November at 2 pm in the parish centre. You will be able to get ahead by choosing your Christmas cards from a selection which will be available to buy.  We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday afternoon.

THE CHRISTMAS GIFT THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Please Kindly support the 2024 Christmas Appeal of the Congregation of Our Lady of the Missions CIO. The Sisters live locally in the parish.  You can do this by giving virtual gifts that will make a difference to many poor people in our missions overseas.  There are four gifts; you may choose one or how many you wish, and for each one you will receive a card which you can give as a Christmas present.  At the back of the church there is a poster and some copies of the catalogue.  Thank you.
