FR DAVID WRITES
The autumn term is pressing on at what seems like an alarming rate! This month of October is the month of the Holy Rosary. Please don’t forget that this week on Wednesday and Saturday we have the secondary school transfer sessions for form signing (please see information below). Well done and thank you to all who participated in CAFOD’s Harvest Fast Day. The collection will be taken up at all Masses this weekend—thank you in advance for your generosity. Sending you all every blessing for the week ahead.

SECONDARY SCHOOL TRANSFER
Wednesday 12 October and Saturday 15 October 5pm-6pm (both evenings) in the entrance of the parish centre. Please bring all paperwork ready and prepared for signing. I hope that parents will think carefully about the special nature, the faith formation and pastoral care, as well as the excellent academic opportunities, that are offered by our wonderful Catholic secondary schools.

OFFERTORY DONATIONS
We are always grateful for the outstanding generosity of our parishioners and visitors. The ‘loose plate’ collection is increasing again (which sound good!) but in actual fact it is more helpful and efficient if you are able to give by standing order rather than loose cash. Standing order is preferable in terms of security as it means less cash handling on the premises, and is also easier to collect the tax refund from HMRC through the Gift Aid scheme. It also means you don’t need to remember to bring cash to church. There are forms in the church porch to sign up for a standing order. Thank you for your consideration and kindness!

ASSET SURVEY
This week Property Services from the diocese conducted our asset survey. We did very well! In recent times we have made a large number of repairs and renewals to the plant so that we are operating efficiently and safely. They were very pleased with the state of affairs here. Of course, this all takes time, money and attention. Thank you all for your generosity and support.

ENERGY CRISIS
One of our parishioners, Santana Harward, writes: “I am with an independent utility company which specialises in multi-services, thus allowing them to currently be the most competitively priced on the market. As well as cheaper energy, there is also an additional benefit for homeowners.
