Jesus informs the apostles of the power of even a little faith and encourages them to regard their ministry as a sacred duty.

The prophet warns of the dangers faced by those who are greedy and complacent, heedful of no one’s needs but their own.

St Paul encourages Timothy, his co-worker, to be true to his calling.

In the parable about the rich man and the poor man, Jesus emphasises the necessity of showing mercy to our neighbour.

Paul urges that prayers be said for people in positions of power, that they may lead their lives and make decisions in accordance with Gospel values.
