BRIDGE CLUB:

Our Bridge Club meets in the Small Hall on Thursday evenings.  If anyone would like a friendly game, please come along at 7.45 pm any Thursday.

MASS TIMES THIS WEEK:
There will be no 8 am Masses during the month of May.

ANNUAL WEEF COLLECTION:
Pope Benedict XVl has called on all Christian communities to encourage and support those who have said ‘Yes’ to God.  One way to this is to contribute to the annual collection for the Priest Training Fund which takes place today.  Everything that you give is used to support our seminarians.  Please give as much as you can afford as it costs £20,000 a year to train a seminarian and this work depends on donations. Thank you. We welcome James Reynolds, a seminarian of Allen Hall, who will speak to us this weekend of his personal experience of studying for the Priesthood.

HOMELESS IN BARNET:
The team at Homeless in Barnet would like to thank you for your kind donations of tins of food during Lent.  Thank you all very much.

FR REGINALD FULLER RIP:

Some Parishioners may know of Fr Reggie especially through his time at St Mellitus, Tollington Park.  Fr Reggie died on Maundy Thursday.  He was 102 years old, the oldest priest of the Diocese and had been a priest for 79 years.  His funeral will be at Westminster Cathedral on Tuesday 17th May at 10.30am.  May he rest in peace. 

PETER BURKE RIP:

Mary Burke and family would like to thank you for your kind messages of sympathy on the death of her husband, Peter.  Thank you also for the Mass cards, for attending the funeral in Ballycastle and the memorial Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes.  A Mass will be offered for your intentions.

BERNADETTE CLUB:

This month’s meeting is this Friday, May 6th, between 2 – 4 pm in the Parish Hall.   All welcome.

MASS TIMES THIS WEEK:

There is 10 am Mass on Monday, May 2nd, after which the church will be closed.  There is no 8 am Mass on Thursday.

“RED CAP” CONCERT:

There will be a concert in the church on 14th May at 7.30 pm to raise funds for Lauren Donaghy’s trip to Lourdes as a volunteer “Red Cap” helper for the sick from the Diocese of Westminster.  Lauren will speak at all masses this weekend, and tickets, priced £5, will be on sale.

CHRISM MASS:

On Tuesday at midday many of the Priests of the Diocese will gather with the Archbishop and his Assistant Bishops in the Cathedral to celebrate the Chrism Mass, when the oils that will be used in the coming year will be blessed and the Priests will renew their commitment to Priestly Service.  All are welcome. 

HOLY SATURDAY PRACTICE:

There will be a practice for the servers and for those who are going to be received into the Church on Holy Saturday at 10.30am.

This Diocesan collection takes place at the 3 pm service on Good Friday.

LENT:

Stations of the Cross will take place after the 10 am Mass  and at 7 pm on Fridays.  This week the evening session will be led by Churches Together. 

Exposition: Sunday afternoon from after the 12.30 pm mass – 5.30 pm.   

Lenten Discussions: Wednesday, 13th April, at 7.30 pm in the Upstairs Meeting Room, using the booklet, ‘Faithful Pilgrims’.  Also available in the Paper Shop is ‘Walk With Me’ which contains meditations for every day during Lent & costs £1. 

HOLY HOUR:

This Sunday from 4.30pm until 5.30pm there will be a special Holy Hour for those who are going to be received into the Church at Easter.  It would be good if as many people as possible were there to support them.
