God is doing a new deed.  The Prophet Isaiah calls on us to look again, with fresh eyes, to see what graces the Lord has ready for us if we will put our trust in him.

Philippians 3: 8-14
The Apostle Paul, in prison, yet filled with the freedom and joy of the Holy Spirit, exhorts us by his own example: forget what is past, and keep running the race into the new life of the resurrection.

John 8: 1-11
The woman Jesus meets is guilty and condemned, trapped by her sin.  In his forgiveness and compassion she is freed from her past, and her accusers are shamed by their own past sins.

Exodus 3: 1-8. 13-15
The Lord not only reveals the name by which he wants to be known, he declares that the has heard his people’s cry in their distress.  God acts on their behalf.

1 Corinthians 10: 1-6. 10-12
In a brief history lesson Paul reminds the Corinthians of the deeds of God on behalf of God’s people in the past.  Their infidelity should be a warning to greater effort in the present.

Luke 13: 1-9
Jesus makes it clear that sudden death is never to be seen as a punishment for sin.  A more important issue is that people take to heart the call to embrace the arrival of God’s kingdom.

Joshua 5: 9-12
After renewing their covenant with the Lord, the people set out to take possession of the promised land.

2 Corinthians 5: 17-21
It is God who reconciles us through the life, death and resurrection of Christ.

The prodigal Son comes to his senses and remembers his father’s love.

Human beings make covenants out of mistrust.  God makes a covenant out of love.

Philippians 3:17 - 4.1
We are measured by the standards of heaven, our true home, not the standards of the earth.

Luke 9: 28-36
We are perfected not just by our own love but by the love of others.  Christ is perfect because he is the perfectly beloved.
