RCIA COURSE:
This stands for Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and is for those who are thinking of becoming a Catholic, or who want to know more about the faith.  Application forms are available in the Paper Shop and the course begins on Sunday September 20th at 11 am.  Please meet in the Hall foyer. 

COURSE FOR CHILDREN AT NON CATHOLIC SCHOOLS:
If you wish your child to attend the course, there is a meeting on Tuesday 15th September in the Parish Hall at 7.30 pm for ALL parents.  Please bring your application form with you. 

SERVERS:
Please collect a rota for 13th September to 1st November from the Paper Shop today.

BECOMING A CATHOLIC:
Are you someone who is thinking of becoming a Catholic, or even simply wanting to find out more about the Catholic Faith?  Is over 18 and not yet confirmed?  This parish runs an RCIA course (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) each year from September to Pentecost on Sunday mornings.  If you would like to know more or would like a place on the course, please talk to one of the priests, or complete an application form, available from the paper shop.  Forms should be returned to the Office as soon as possible.  This year’s course will be starting on 19th September. 

SUMMER FOUR SEASONS DRAW:

8 AM MASS:
Just to remind you, there are no 8 am Masses during the month of August.

Is there someone who is good with a needle and cotton who can make bags to hang on the back of the chairs used by the choir?  If so, please speak to Fr Kevin, who has a pattern for a bag.

FAIR TRADE STALL:
Today's is our last "Commerce Equitable" (Fair Trade) stall before 20th September and includes some useful holiday items, some of them greatly reduced to clear stock for new Autumn lines.  All profits go to CAFOD.

PARISH BARBEQUE:
The Parish BBQ is next Saturday, 18th July, at 7.30pm.  Tickets are now on sale, £5 adults and £2 for children.

OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL:
Will be holding their Summer Fair on Sunday 5th July 12pm – 3pm.  Lots of stalls, things to do, opportunities to win some great prizes including a special raffle for a West Indies Test Cricket Team 2009 signed shirt. 

LAWN BOWLS:
Our Lady of Lourdes and St Monica’s schools are competing in a game of outdoor bowls on July 9th at 1.30 pm in Arnos Park Bowls Club.  This will be the first time in Enfield, and the Mayor will be present.  The children are aged between 9 and 10 and are very enthusiastic about their bowling.  You are all welcome to come and watch the match and cheer for your school!!

MISSION TODAY:
The Summer edition of the magazine of the APF missionaries is available free in the paper shop.  Please take a copy.

CATHOLIC LIFE:
This is a monthly magazine, on sale in the Paper Shop, with interesting articles of a Catholic nature.  This month’s issue carries an interview with Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor.

Developing country farmers have already received a guaranteed fair price for their sugar, cocoa etc so today’s reductions, eg 75% on belgian chocolates are ‘loss leaders’ or ‘margin crunches’ by supplier Traidcraft or our stall.
