Today is the solemnity of the apostles Peter and Paul, patron saints of the city and the Church of Rome. Today at all Masses there will be a collection for Peter’s Pence which helps support the Pope’s outreach. We send you all good wishes!

Today is the Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Next weekend we will celebrate the solemnity of the apostles Peter and Paul (normally a holy day when it falls during the week). Thank you to everyone who came to our special Mass at the cemetery chapel and then the prayer service at Waterfall Road. Next Saturday at the cathedral the ordinations to the priesthood will take place. Please pray for Tom Blackburn, Domagoj Matokovic, and Robert Smialek who will receive their ordinations that day (the Mass begins at 10.30am at Westminster).

Today is the Tenth Sunday of the Year, as we return once more to the season of Ordinary Time following Easter and the big feasts we have celebrated over these last few weeks. Today (Sunday) we bid a fond farewell to Father Johnson and send him off with our prayers and affection. He tells me he is already looking forward to visiting us next year!  Fr Andrew is also away this week, so please be gentle with me! Finally, I have completed six years (two terms) as Dean of Enfield which I think is long enough, so I am very pleased to hand over to Fr Daniel Humphreys, Parish Priest of Enfield Town, as the new dean. We wish him well, and I thank him for taking the reins!

Please pray for Sean Power and James Boyle who were ordained deacons on Saturday morning at Westminster Cathedral. They are candidates for the priesthood. Please also pray for Monsignor James Curry who is to be ordained as  auxiliary bishop of Westminster this Tuesday, 12 noon at the cathedral. All are welcome to the episcopal ordination. Please remember that our special Mass at New Southgate Cemetery Chapel will take place next Saturday morning, 22nd June, beginning at 11 am. The prayers at Waterfall Road cemetery will follow at 12.30 pm. Finally, please sign up for our Afternoon Tea if you would like to.

Today is the solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (also known as Corpus Christi) when we celebrate the gift of the Eucharist – the abiding and dynamic presence of the Risen Lord among us. This coming Friday is the lovely solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. There is no Friday abstinence this week thanks to the Lord’s feast. We hope you had a nice half-term and wish you all every blessing.
