SICK AND RETIRED PRIEST’S FUND:
Very many thanks for your generosity last weekend.  A total of £2,400 was collected.  This collection will stay open until the end of the month and donations can be posted through the presbytery letter box – thank you.

NOTES FOR PEWS CONCERT:
Nigel Blomiley says, “My admiration and deep gratitude to the choirs for their work and performances last Saturday.  Special thanks to Amaya Pitharas, Peiro Mattei, Philip Donnelly and Robin Stapleton for their participation and, not least, to the audience and those who donated to our grand total of £651.”

SICK AND RETIRED PRIEST’S FUND:
All money that you give will be used to ensure that sick and elderly Priests receive the care and support that they need.  The fund is entirely dependant on donations and each year more priests need its support.  If you pay tax please complete the Gift Aid Form on the donation envelopes, as this will add 28p to every £1 donated at no extra cost to yourself.

SCOUT GROUP AND BROWNIE PACK:
There will be Church Parade for Remembrance Sunday on November 11th at 9.45 am Mass.  Group members are asked to be at the church by 9.30 am and please wear your poppy if you have bought one.

WORLD YOUTH DAY NEWS:
The next WYD is in Sydney, Australia from 8 – 22 July 2008.  The Diocese is taking a group of 200 young people.  If you are over 16 and would like to go download the application form from www.worldyouthday.org.uk .  The full cost of the trip is £1,850.  The Catenian Association is offering to pay the full cost of the Pilgrimage for two young people – please see Fr. Damian

MASS OF THANKSGIVING FOR THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY
at Westminster Cathedral on 10th May 2008 at 3.00 pm.  The Cardinal will celebrate this Mass and invites all couples in the Diocese who are celebrating a 10th, 25th, 30th, 40th etc. wedding anniversary in 2008.  If you, or someone you know, qualifies, please hand in their names and full postal address to the parish as soon as possible.

FR. JOHN BIJU:
There will be a reception for us to say good bye to Fr. John on Saturday 27th October at 7pm. Fr John will be celebrating the 6.30pm Mass.  All are welcome.

OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL:
Applications forms are now available from the school for reception places for 2008. There will be an open morning on Thursday 8th November at 9am or Tuesday 4th December at 9am for any parent wishing to view the school.  Please call the school on 8361-0767 for further details.

SECONDARY SCHOOL TRANSFER SIGNINGS:
The Priests will be available to sign secondary school transfer forms on Monday 29th October 6.30pm – 8.30pm and on Tuesday 30th October 6.30 pm – 8pm.  You must make an appointment for one of the above dates by signing one of the forms which are available in the Parish Hall after every Mass. The Secondary Schools are aware that the form will be sent directly back to them on the 31st October.

MRS CATHERINE O’MAHONY RIP:

CAFOD IN BRAZIL:
Tony Sheen, Diocesan Manager for CAFOD Westminster, will be giving a talk about his recent trip to Brazil on Monday 16th April at Our Lady and St Gregory’s Church, Union Street, Barnet.
Tony met people living in the vast shanty towns of Sao Paulo and visited indigenous communities in the Amazon rainforest.  He will tell the inspiring stories of how, with the support of CAFOD's partners, the people he met are finding ways out of poverty, challenging discrimination and seeking justice.
