OPPORTUNITIES FOR PRAYER:
During Advent there will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 1.30pm – 5.30pm on Sundays concluding with Benediction. However, this can only take place if there is someone present in the Church to stay with the exposed Eucharist. Please sign your name against the time you can be there on the list in the Porch.
HOUSE MASS:
Fr Damian would like to celebrate a house Mass in different parts of the Parish on the Fridays of Advent. If you would like to host a Mass for Parishioners in your area please see Fr Damian.
OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL APPLICATION FORM FOR 2008:
Fr Tom and Fr Damian will sign the applications for OLOL school on the 10th and 11th December from 5.30pm7.30pm. Please sign up for an appointment in the Parish Hall lobby. You are also asked to hand your self-assessment form to the Presbytery by 3rd December. -

CONFIRMATION 2008:
Those of you who have picked up an application form are reminded that they should be returned in person on either 19th or 20th November between 7 – 8 pm at the Parish Centre, where you will be invited to join the Parish Team for a short chat. We will be unable to consider any application after these dates.
KNIGHTS OF ST COLUMBA:
The 9.45 am Mass next Sunday will be a special Mass for the Election of the New Southgate Council with Admission Ceremony and installation of New Members. All welcome.
PLANNED GIVING ENVELOPES:
Our new envelopes are ready for collection from the back of the church today. Please note that they will be in alphabetical order, not numerical order.

SICK AND RETIRED PRIEST’S FUND:
Very many thanks for your generosity last weekend. A total of £2,400 was collected. This collection will stay open until the end of the month and donations can be posted through the presbytery letter box – thank you.
NOTES FOR PEWS CONCERT:
Nigel Blomiley says, “My admiration and deep gratitude to the choirs for their work and performances last Saturday. Special thanks to Amaya Pitharas, Peiro Mattei, Philip Donnelly and Robin Stapleton for their participation and, not least, to the audience and those who donated to our grand total of £651.”

SICK AND RETIRED PRIEST’S FUND:
All money that you give will be used to ensure that sick and elderly Priests receive the care and support that they need. The fund is entirely dependant on donations and each year more priests need its support. If you pay tax please complete the Gift Aid Form on the donation envelopes, as this will add 28p to every £1 donated at no extra cost to yourself.
SCOUT GROUP AND BROWNIE PACK:
There will be Church Parade for Remembrance Sunday on November 11th at 9.45 am Mass. Group members are asked to be at the church by 9.30 am and please wear your poppy if you have bought one.

WORLD YOUTH DAY NEWS:
The next WYD is in Sydney, Australia from 8 – 22 July 2008. The Diocese is taking a group of 200 young people. If you are over 16 and would like to go download the application form from www.worldyouthday.org.uk . The full cost of the trip is £1,850. The Catenian Association is offering to pay the full cost of the Pilgrimage for two young people – please see Fr. Damian
SICK AND RETIRED PRIEST’S FUND:
There will be a collection next weekend and all money raised will be used to ensure that elderly Priests in our diocese receive the care and support they need. Please take a donation envelope home with you for your contribution next weekend. Please give as much as you can.

The Concert is next Saturday November 3rd at 8 pm. Opera of Musicals favourites and unusual instruments. Cheese and wine. Tickets will be on sale after all Masses, PLEASE support the event.

MASS OF THANKSGIVING FOR THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY
at Westminster Cathedral on 10th May 2008 at 3.00 pm. The Cardinal will celebrate this Mass and invites all couples in the Diocese who are celebrating a 10th, 25th, 30th, 40th etc. wedding anniversary in 2008. If you, or someone you know, qualifies, please hand in their names and full postal address to the parish as soon as possible.
FR. JOHN BIJU:
There will be a reception for us to say good bye to Fr. John on Saturday 27th October at 7pm. Fr John will be celebrating the 6.30pm Mass. All are welcome.

OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL:
Applications forms are now available from the school for reception places for 2008. There will be an open morning on Thursday 8th November at 9am or Tuesday 4th December at 9am for any parent wishing to view the school. Please call the school on 8361-0767 for further details.
SECONDARY SCHOOL TRANSFER SIGNINGS:
The Priests will be available to sign secondary school transfer forms on Monday 29th October 6.30pm – 8.30pm and on Tuesday 30th October 6.30 pm – 8pm. You must make an appointment for one of the above dates by signing one of the forms which are available in the Parish Hall after every Mass. The Secondary Schools are aware that the form will be sent directly back to them on the 31st October.
MRS CATHERINE O’MAHONY RIP:

As many people were away and missed Fr. Cassidy’s funeral, there will be a Mass on Wed. 26th September at 6 pm at St. Albans, Nether St. N12, to commemorate him. All are welcome.
COFFEE MORNING:
On Saturday 29th September 10am – 1pm in the Parish Hall as part of the ‘Big Coffee’ morning organized across the country in aid of McMillan Nurses.
