SATURDAY CATECHISM CLASSES:
If you would like your child to make their First Holy Communion and they attend a Non Catholic school, please collect an application form from the Paper Shop. They must be at least six years old by the 31st August 2008.
CATECHIST NEEDED:
To help the children who attend non Catholic schools to prepare for First Holy Communion. This will involve a commitment of one Saturday morning a month during term time. If you can help please contact the office – thank you
PARISH COUNCIL MEETING:
This Monday, September 8th, at 8.15 pm in the Small Hall. If you haven’t received your minutes of the last meeting by email, please check the yellow folder in the Paper shop.

BERNADETTE CLUB OUTING:
Don’t forget that the coach for the outing on 2nd September will be leaving the church car park at 12 noon sharp! Please don’t forget to bring a packed lunch. Our next meeting is on Friday 5th September at 2 pm in the Hall as usual.

FOUR SEASONS DRAW:

PENNIES FOR PEACE:
Please bring your jars of spare pennies for Pax Christi next Sunday. You are asked to leave them in the PAX basket, which you will find on the Sanctuary, and not unattended in the body of the church. Many thanks.
PARISH OFFICE:
Next week the Office will be closed every day except Friday, when it will be open from 9 am – 1 pm. Visitors are reminded that entry to the Office is through the Hall door – you are asked to use the intercom even if the Hall door is open. Many thanks.

FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION:
This is on Friday, August 15th, and is a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass times are at 8 am, 10 am and 7.30 pm.
PARISH HALL:
This is now being painted and is closed to ALL USERS until further notice. The painters expect to take at least three weeks.

CHURCH DECORATING:
The painting has now been completed and our new benches will be arriving shortly. The decorators have now moved on to the Parish Hall which will be out of use until September.

Seamus’ body will be brought into church on Wednesday 30th July at 7 pm, and the Requiem will follow at 10 am on 31st July.
FRANK NOLAN RIP:
Frank’s body will be brought into church on Thursday 31st July at 7 pm, and the Requiem will take place on Friday 1st August at 10 am.

Our annual, much anticipated Parish BBQ will take place on Saturday 19th July from after the 6.30 pm Mass. Tickets are on sale after all Masses this weekend.
ANNUAL MISSION APPEAL:
This is our Diocesan appeal for the missions, which this year is being taken by the White Fathers. Fr. Aylward Shorter will be speaking at all Masses today. Please be as generous as you can. The White Fathers are an international team of priests, brothers and lay associates from Africa, Britain and many other countries. Building up small Christian communities with the help of local organizations, the White Fathers work in partnership with the Church in Africa.
